3 is such a hurting number
His name was Kenneth Hawthorne.
Two years older, he had been a friend of Samantha
for 6 years now. They met in medical preparation school
and he entered StarFleet Academy 2 years earlier,
than the twins did.
He sure was cute and Sam was so happy to see him again, when she and her sister walked along StarFleet
Medical Academy at the south end of the campus.
They were new and tried to figure out were to go.
Sam realised him pretty soon and ran up to him.
She gave him the biggest hug.
She didn't saw the look Jamie and Kenneth gave each other.
The three of them went out for dinner
and had a great time.
But by the end of the night Sam was sure
something wasn't quite right.
She and Jamie took the way by the beach back to her sisters quarters,
when Sam suddenly asked: "He is your lover?"
She didn't really expected it, but her sister approved.
Sam stopped herself briskly,
turned around and walked down to the beach.
She needed a little time by herself.
Dropping into the warm sand Sam
watched the stars moving by.
Once, a long time ago she was in love with Kenneth.
And she still wasn't sure about her feelings.
But she had decided not to tell him again, after he turned her down all those years ago.
They had been the best friends and it always was enough for Sam just to be near him.
But this was different.
Her sister knew about her feelings for Kenneth.
Sam didn't know what to do think.
She had trusted Jamie, and now that...
It might sound so silly, but for her it felt like she just lost the two most important people in her life.
She found herself crying silent tears about her loss.
The very next day she met Jamie for lunch
at their favourite spot, right next to the shuttle area.
"Why him?" But Jamie didn't feel like she did something wrong: "What... you said you aren't sure about him. So why are you complaining now?"
Sam's thoughts were spinning, she couldn't believe, that those were the words of her own sister.
Something broke inside of her.
And she knew it would take a long time to heal,
if it ever would do so!
On the outside she played, like a good actress, that she approved with her sister.
At the inside, she fought her tears.
After that Jamie and Kenneth didn't hide anymore.
But Sam sometimes wished they would!
'I do not love him anymore!' she tried to tell herself,
but then, why does it hurt so much?
Every Monday Sam and Kenneth met for lunch,
and Sam became pretty good in playing the good friend for him and the perfect sister for Jamie.
But every time Samantha saw the two of them walking hand in hand or kissing and laughing,
a piece of her heart crumbled.
But she knew she could never tell them,
how hurt she really was.
If you are a twin, you never ever are in love with the boyfriend of your sister!!!
Sam knew the rules.
