Bath Time

Mollie tapped her foot as she waited outside the Just King's study. She was meant to be meeting with him to discuss her new position in the army. Peter had meant to be conducting the meeting, but his schedule was rather full at the moment. Mollie couldn't help but wonder where her friend was. She began leaning against the wall, a casual position that Susan would be horrified at. As time wore on, Mollie slowly sank closer to the floor, until she'd been waiting for an hour. By the time Edmund rounded the corner, Mollie was sat with her back to the wall daydreaming. The sound of Edmund's boots on the stone made her jolt back to reality and she scowled at the approaching King.
"Where have you been, I've been waiting for ages" Mollie said.
"Taking my after breakfast bath" Edmund replied. "Why are you on the floor?" he asked as he came to a stop in front of her.
"Resting my legs" Mollie said, she held a hand out, Edmund grasped it and pulled her up in a fluid motion. "Ta very much"
"Shall we?" Edmund asked, leading the way into his study. Mollie pulled on the serving bell before sitting down. When the maid arrived, she requested a pot of tea and a plate of cakes brought up.
"I'm hungry" she said to Edmund, after his eyebrow rose.
"Mollie, breakfast was only two hours ago" Edmund said.
"Edmund, I'm tired. Sat outside your study for ages has made me hungry" Mollie replied.
"You're so lazy" Edmund said suddenly.
"Yes I am. But you shouldn't have kept me waiting" Mollie replied.
"I'm sorry Mollie" Edmund replied "forgive me?"
"Of course I forgive you" Mollie replied.
"Why thank you Mols" Edmund replied with a grin. A knock sounded at the door and a maid entered carrying a tray. Once the maid left the room.
"I'll pour" Mollie said with a smile.
"Thank you" Edmund said, taking his cup and saucer.
"Can we get on with our meeting?" Mollie asked.
"Of course we can" Edmund said, sitting down on his desk. Mollie sat down on her side of the desk.

Mollie sat in the breakfast room, she grinned looking at Lucy. However as the maids became to come and collect the food, Mollie looked up.
"Is Edmund not awake?" Mollie asked "I didn't realise Edmund could miss his morning brew"
"He's taking an extra-long bath" Lucy said "Told us all last night, has a new book to read"
"Let me guess, is it a history book?" Mollie asked.
"Yes, it's the history of Telmar" Lucy replied. "He's had to cancel two appointments this morning"
"Really?" Mollie asked "That brother of yours loves his history books."
"And his baths" Lucy added.
Edmund didn't surface for several hours. Mollie was heading back to her room when Edmund appeared, his hair still damp and beginning to curl.
"How do Ed" Mollie grinned. "Nice bath?"
"It was wonderful" Edmund replied.
"You finished your history book?" Mollie asked.
"Nope" Edmund replied "But I've learnt about the early Telmarine history. Also, you don't want to go to Telmar, they don't appreciate females like you"
"I'm not going to ask you what that means" Mollie said.
"You're a female Knight" Edmund said "They don't like girls like you Mollie"
"Thanks Ed" Mollie replied. Edmund smiled at her before heading down to his study.

Mollie had been on her way to the library when she passed Edmund's study, after poking her head round the door and seeing it empty she shook her head. Lord Frond was stood patiently outside the room.
"Have you seen His Majesty?" Lord Frond asked.
"I'll find him, if you'd like to wait inside, I'll have a maid bring up tea" Mollie replied.
"Thank you Your Majesty" Frond replied. Mollie set off, heading towards the shared bedroom. On the way she passed Mia, one of the kitchen maids.
"Mia, will you get a pot of tea and a plate of biscuits sent up the King Edmund's Study" Mollie asked the young girl.
"Of course Ma'am" Mia replied with a curtsy.

Mollie entered her bedroom. She ignored the doors leading to the balcony, and those leading to her actual bed, instead moving towards the bathroom. Upon opening the door, Mollie found her husband sat in the bath.
"Hello" she said, moving to sit on the edge of the tub.
"Morning my darling" Edmund replied "you were an early riser this morning"
"Me and Luce went riding, with a breakfast picnic" Mollie replied.
"Sounds fun" Edmund said, his eyes returning to his book.
"You've got a Lord waiting in your study" Mollie said.
"Oh, I should probably get dressed" Edmund replied.
"I've got the kitchens to send him tea and cake up" Mollie replied, moving from her place on the edge of the bath till she was behind him.
"Oh?" Edmund said.
"I do not understand your bath thing" Mollie said.
"I find them relaxing" Edmund looked up at her. "It's nice to forget about everything, all the pressures of ruling"
"Don't say I don't care about you" Mollie replied, her fingers were on his shoulders, massaging his muscles. Edmund let out a low groan, dropping his book over the side of the bath and closing his eyes. Mollie snorted in a rather unladylike manner at his reaction. Edmund smiled at Mollie as his muscles began to loosen. Once his massage finished, Mollie moved to the side on the bath tub once again.
"Thank you darling" Edmund said.
"For you Edmund, anything" Mollie replied.
"Would you really do anything?" Edmund asked, looking at her seriously.
"Edmund, I've taken a sword for you" Mollie replied "I'm really sorry, but I won't eat mushrooms though, they're nasty"
"Mollie" Edmund said, taking her hand and looking her seriously "I would also do anything for you, including eating mushrooms. I love you" Mollie smiled softly at him.
"I love you too" Mollie replied.

Mollie started as Edmund's arm slipped around her waist. Mollie leant down to kiss her husband, Edmund grinned and pulled her down onto his lap. Mollie yelped, as she hit the water, some splashed over the sides of the bath tub.
"What on earth did you do that for?" Mollie asked, hitting Edmund's arm.
"To get you closer" Edmund replied, kissing her suddenly.
"You could have asked nicely" Mollie replied, leaning over to unfasten her boots.
"I thought women liked surprise romantic gestures?" Edmund asked.
"Edmund pulling me into the bath fully clothed with you is not considered romantic by anyone" Mollie said.
"I get criticised for not being romantic and then I get criticised when I try to do romantic things" Edmund said, suddenly pouting.
"Come here Eddie" Mollie said suddenly. She leaned down, kicking her boots off and moving to a more comfortable position on Edmund's lap. Mollie kissed her husband softly. Edmund's arms moved around her waist. Mollie's fingers moved through his hair, her mouth on his.
"I really do love you Edmund Pevensie" Mollie stated as she kissed him once again.
"I do believe I love you too Queen Mollie" Edmund said. Mollie beamed at him and leant on his chest, Edmund wrapped his arms around her. Mollie smiled leaning into his chest.
"I think I understand why you like baths" Mollie said, snuggling into his chest with a contented smile on her face. Edmund dropped a kiss on her forehead.
