I woke up, 'Meltdown' blasting from my alarm clock, I quickly shut it off. The first thing I did was rush my closet and check my 'secret item' and see if it was safe. Yep, nobody even touched it. Good. I put the item in my bag. I would need it today.
I brushed through my short green hair and ran downstairs. My mom, Megurine Luka, looked at me.
"In a rush?" She asked. I just nodded, grabbing a peice of toast and running to the door.
"I harff a meeting urnd I'll be hurm late!" I said, my words slurred by the toast in my mouth. She just nodded and smiled.
"Have fun!"
"Kay!" I ran out the door, hailing a taxi. Telling him the adress, I handed him the money. As I arrived, I sprinted out of the car and into the Tokyo Anime and Cosplay Convention.
I ran into the bathroom, and pulled out my 'secret item', my cosplay. Thank Kamisama nobody I knew was here...
I threw on a long, blue-haired wig over my head. And I put on a short white, sleeveless dress, with butterflies along the trim. Wow, it was skimpy...
After putting on butterfly headphones, I marveled at myself in the mirror. I'd say I did a darn good job, considering Amane Hazuki (HA!) was a pretty hard cosplay to pull off.I walked outside, and upstairs, onto the roof of the south building. I really was getting a lot of attention!
"Look this way, please!" Calls a camera kid. I turned around with a smile, but as I took in the familiar features, his blonde hair, pulled into a ponytail, his briht, and now confused azue eyes staring at me. He was Len Kagamine, a boy from my class!
"What are you doing in a place like this?" He asked. I should be asking him the same thing!
"I-I'm meeting someone at the beach this weekend!" I said. He just shook his heaad.
"If I recall, isn't that what you said before?" Damn.
We had a good laugh about it, I guess I wasn't careful today.
"But, I hope you understand?" I asked, "Now look, this is just a secret between the two of us, Please give me the courage to always be myself honestly like this...But, I guess, still, I'd rather this be kept a secret from the rest of the class..." I said. He just nodded.
"But still," I said, bowing, "Kakure Otaku de Gomennasai!" He laughed.
I pulled myself together, and got ready for my new job, a friend of mine, Hatsune Miku, had a Akiba Maid Cafe that she gave me a job at.
"Welcome home, master!" I greeted one of my customers. When he looked up, it was my dad, Shion Kaito!
"What are you doing in a place like this?" He asked. I should be asking him the same thing!
"Heh...I have a meeting tonight, I'll be home late..."
"Isn't that what you told mom this morning?" CRAP!
We had a good laugh about it, and I continued serving my customers with a smile. When I gave my dad his food, I looked at him, and bowed, saying,
"Kakure Otaku de Gomennasai!" He just sighed. I didn't want anyone else to know, mom doesn't need anymore stress!
I mean, besides, being an Otaku theese days is hard..People don't really appreciate us.
So I went home, what with anything, anyhow a good days work today! I changed into my pajamas, and checked the newest Nico Nico videos. Scrolling across the popular videos, my eyes went wide at what I saw.
My mom. Dancing the Caramelldansen. In my school uniform. I beat my head against the wall. Great. At the same time, my mom and dad walked in, bowed, and said,
"Kakure Otaku de Gomennasai!"
