It was weird being asked a favor by Elaina. But seeing as how the girl had other plains prior and she herself did not, it only made sense that Rowan agree to tend to Elaina's brother while she went of doing goddess knows what. So here she was, in their kitchen, pulling out a pot and whatever vegetables and spices she could around the kitchen. Her nose wrinkled, hoping that this soup deal worked out because she would admit that she wasn't the best cook there was. Decent, at best.
She was almost through with cooking the makeshift vegetable soup when there was a shuffling noise behind her. "Rowan...?" She turned, catching Kiran in all of his drowsy, anti-cold drug-induced and pajama-blad glory. In all honesty, he looked like he'd seen better days. "What're you doing here...?" Rowan couldn't help but show a nervous smile, "W-well, looking after you, of course!" He eyed her in a weird way, and she couldn't tell if he was figuring out if it was all still a dream or if her ponytail looked weird. Kiran shook his head, "Anyway... you don't have to take care of me." Her smile faltered and Rowan turned to tend to her soup.
"Go back to bed, please." "But Ro-" "Go back to bed, Kiran."
She didn't know what exactly made him do what she said, but he did. Rowan eyed his sleeping form cautiously as she carried a warm bowl of soup in hand; she didn't pay much attention to the decoration, or lack thereof, of his room or the fact that it was dimly lit with moonlight. A timid hand reached out and pushed his shoulder, "Hey... Kiran... supper is ready." One eye cracked open before closing again; her lips scrunched up as if she were perplexed before she sat the bowl down on his nightstand, slightly annoyed. "Hey, Kiran." Another nudge. "Come on, you need to eat." Another nudge. "I know you can hear me." Yet, another nudge. "Kir-" A sudden force brought her down and her face hit the plush of a pillow; she made a few muffled comments along the lines of 'what in the world?'.
"Ssssh." She obeyed, of course, "...I'm not hungry... I'm tired... sleep..." What? He wasn't making sense and she went through all of that trouble to making him something! She turned her head so that her voice could be heard, "Kiran... you need to ea-" A finger was held to her lips, "Ssssh... sleep..." Rowan could feel the heat on her cheeks become warm and even more warm. What? Sleep here?! "I-I don't think that's a good idea, Ki-" He held her closer. What did this medication stuff do to him? Was he broken? What should she do?
Rowan lifted a hand to his forehead to feel for a temperature, but he caught her hand in his. "A-ah..!" was all that she could muster out as her blush grew. He let go of her hand and she could feel a pang of... emptiness within her. Why did that make her feel that way? It was a frustrating feeling. Warm blankets enveloped her and she felt strong arms wrap around her, before pulling her closer. More blushing on her part. "Just... sleep..."
How long it actually took her to fall asleep, she didn't know. She also didn't know why she actually stayed there that night, because she could have just objected just as easily as she just accepted that she would sleep there, in his arms. The other question of why he acted in such a manner baffled her too. But Rowan wouldn't forget the sheer comfort and safety she felt that night, sleeping peacefully beside him.
