Happy Pinch Me Day
John stared at the red numbers of the display panel as the elevator began to descend to the garage level to the office building of their new number. As he listen to the soft music playing in the background he glanced at Joss standing next to him.
As his eyes looked her over, a thought crossed his mind today was the 17th.
John licked his lips as the grin he'd been trying to contain spread across his face, slowly he lifted his hand, prepping his thumb and pointer finger.
"Don't even think about it John," Joss ordered as they stood side by side in the elevator.
"Come on Joss its tradition, don't you know what today is?" He explained taking in her black knee length skirt and beige sleeveless top.
Joss scoffed looking him up and down, "Look who's talking Mr. black suit, white shirt all the time."
"Fair enough I guess we both are in trouble, I'll let you go first." John replied holding out his arm to her.
Joss chuckled as she quickly pinched his forearm.
"Ow that hurt detective!" he exclaimed cradling his arm in exaggerated pain.
"My turn" John stated reaching out to pinch Joss.
"I don't think so." Joss replied stepping out of his reach.
"Come on Joss, it's only fair it is Saint Patrick's Day and you're not wearing green."
He watched her, as a mischievous glint formed in her eye while a coy smile overtook her lips.
Joss chuckled as she moved into John's personal space, placing her hands on his chest before nonchalantly playing with the buttons on his shirt.
"Oh John, John, John," she stated with a mock disappointed tone.
Joss stared at his shirt before lifting her eyes to stare into his, at the elevator ding the doors opened, "whoever said I wasn't wearing green today?"
She playfully tapped him on the nose as she winked at him before stepping out the elevator.
John slowly moved out the elevator following her, staring as she walked towards her car, suddenly wishing he had ordered those x-ray vision glasses from the back of his comic books when he was little.
"That's awfully convenient Joss, I'm going to need some proof. How do I know you're not lying to me?" John asked as he opened her car door, watching as she slide into the driver's seat.
"You don't" she turned her keys in the ignition, kicking her headlights on and putting her seat belt on, "but you're a smart man John I'm sure you can find a way to figure it out."
John stepped back as she shut her door before pulling out of the parking garage. Turning on his heal headed for his car, a smug grin on his face. 'It looked like he'd be paying his favorite Detective a surprise body inspection tonight.'
