"Ai, what are you doing?" Coco asked as the girl cut down a fir tree near her house. "I know you don't like fir trees for not giving you fruit, but you didn't have to cut it down."

"I'm not cutting it down just because I don't like them." Ai explained. "But Christmas is coming soon, so I got to decorate it and put it in the house."

"Christmas?" Coco tilted her head. She then shook her head and sighed. Ai was probably going on about another made up holiday again.

"It's a holiday where I come from!" Ai turned around and told her. "It's a really cool holiday too!"

"What's it about?" Coco decided to humor her.

Ai was a funny townsperson. She was the only human in the town, but there was a rumor going around that one of Ai's friends would come visit soon. Ai wasn't very popular in town because she tended to celebrate weird holidays and often stayed home when she wasn't out catching fish and bugs to pay off her mortgage. And rabbits, Ai was good at catching fish and bugs! She always placed first no matter what.

That, and Ai was amazing at interior design, but Coco was the only one who knew that because she was the only one Ai let in her house. Ai seemed to spend a lot of her time decorating and re-decorating till she got something good out of it. Ai loved the Happy Room Academy, she kept every letter from them in a dresser drawer. The Happy Room Academy also adored Ai for her unique taste.

"Hm…I don't really know what it's about, but I do know that people are peaceful during the time and friends and family get together to give gifts to each other. It's a pretty cool holiday, you know!"

"Give gifts to each other and be really peaceful, huh?" Coco thought about it. "That does sound nice."

"Yeah, it's too bad I'm the only one who's going to celebrate it." Ai realized sadly.

"Hey, I could celebrate it with you too." Coco said.

"Really?!" Ai yelled a bit too eagerly.

"You're going to have to teach me how, though." The bunny said.

"This is great!" Ai threw her hands up in the air. "We can make hot chocolate and set up tinsel and holly and decorate the tree and wrap presents and sing carols and…"

"And make sure you don't bore your friends." A boy's voice finished for her. Ai narrowed her eyes and turned to the source of it. Coco saw that it was a human boy, probably Ai's rumored friend.

"Shut up, Yu! I was talking to Coco, here." She pouted.

"Yes, I could hear you from the Town Hall." Yu said smiling.

"Only 'cause the Town Hall's right above my house!" Ai pointed out.

"Tsk." Yu shook his head before offering Coco a smile. "You must be the friend that Ai talked so much about. I'm Yu, her neighbor from the city we used to live in."

"Pleased to meet you." Coco returned the smile.

"Well, shall we get that tree in the house?" he asked Ai.

"Oh, no! You are NOT decorating the house!" Ai yelled. "I don't want my place getting infected by your bad taste."

"My sense of decorating is just fine." Yu denied. The two continued to argue as they carried the tree into the house. Coco followed them inside with a smile. Humans were strange.

Tsuki: Ai was named after the girl from the Animal Crossing: Wild World movie, but she certainly doesn't act the same.

Holiday moral: Sometimes, you just got to go with it.
