Hey. Just so you know, I'm slow when it comes to updating, so I won't add on immediately. Just sayin'. Anyways, I had to start this whole chapter over again because it wouldn't save, so... Yeah. Well, anyways. I'll try to stay cheerful.

(I am a line break!)

Chapter 1: Failure

Mordecai and Rigby have been instructed to clean the gutters. So where are they instead? The coffee shop, of course. Although Mordecai has other intentions than just slacking off. He, of course, has his eyes locked on Margaret. Rigby notices the glazed-over look in his eyes and nudges him hard in the arm.

"Dude! You look like you're plastered. Stop staring at her like that.." he says, rolling his eyes.

"Wha?.. Oh, not now, Rigby.." Mordecai says blankly, as Margaret walks over with two coffees and two sandwiches.

"Here's your food and coffee, guys!" Margaret says in her usual cheeriness. Mordecai attempts to make his move.

"Um, Margaret?.." Mordecai starts shakily. Rigby shakes his head. "Here we go again.."

"Yeah, Mordecai?" Margaret asks, smiling.

"Um.. Well.. You see.. Oh.. I've got an extra ticket to, um.. Oh, Zombie Apocalypse 5.. Would you maybe.. I mean, it's ok if you can't, but.. Could you come with me?" he finally finishes. Margaret gives an awkward look.

"Um.. That's sweet, but.. I already have plans with Eileen to go somewhere.. Maybe some other night, maybe? Sorry.." she says, and walks off. Mordecai waits until she turns the corner into the kitchen, and then starts banging his head on the table.

"Dang it.. Why won't she just say 'yes!'" Mordecai moans to himself. Rigby tries to comfort him, even though he's..actually glad he has failed once again to ask her out. You see, he actually has a bit of a.. Well, what you could call a crush on Mordecai. He's had one since 9th grade. And he's wanted to tell him how he felt for a long time; But he was shyer than he appeared, and was unable to do so, especially since he was worried about what would happen to their friendship if he told him.

"Come on, Mordecai, let's get back to the park. Benson's gonna kill us if he sees us not working on the gutt-"

*static* "Mordecai! Rigby!" Too late, apparently. "Where ARE you two idiots?! I told you both to clean the gutters over an HOUR ago! You have 5 minutes to get back here, or you are both FIRED!" *static*

"All right, let's go, I guess.." Mordecai sighs, and puts $8.84 on the table for the food and coffee. They walk out, while Rigby thinks to himself silently.

"I need to stop the torment.. Or at least tell him how I feel.. It's about time I say something." Rigby thinks as he and Mordecai drive back to the park.

(I have returned! The line break!)

Anyways, yay.. My first thing posted, finally. This might be the average length of a chapter, so.. Yep. Wow. Diana Rose will not care for this. XD
