Hodges Lucky Day!
After walking away from Grissom's office, David Hodges couldn't have been grinning any broader. How much greater could this day get?
He ran into Wendy again before the end of the shift, trying to keep the smugness off his face, as he addressed her. "So, maybe you'd like to get some breakfast after shift? With me, I mean."
"Still feeling lucky?" She replied, grinning back to him.
He shrugged, and said honestly "I don't know, but thought it was either now or never."
"Yeah, sure I'll just check that I've backed up everything…"
"Yep" he nodded, grinning and standing idly waiting for her and continued his smarmy grin as she linked arms with him to leave the building.
"And get that grin off your face, Freak Boy" she whispered to him at last, "you're not getting THAT lucky."
He tried to suppress it.
Nick and Warrick were just entering again after almost closing their case for the night. Warrick turned to Nick after seeing Hodges and Wendy leave together.
"Was that just Hodges… and Wendy from DNA?"
Nick shrugged, "Must be his lucky day."
