Her fingertips grazed the side of his face, as she breathed softly in his arms. She shifted her body towards him, and pressed her lips to his cheek.

His laughter was warm. "You are so adorable!" His eyes took her in, every inch of her. "Leah, why are you so beautiful?"

"I ask myself that everyday." she smiled cockily.

He laughed again, and ran a hand through her long hair. His kissed her lips, gently, always ever so gently. His touch was warm. Sam had always been so warm…

Leah sat up in her bed, alone now, the tears still warm sliding down her cheeks. She places her head in her hands. Nights are difficult. She cries herself to sleep, only to find herself wrapped up in the security of her dreams of him. Waking alone, the emotions fade. Her eyes are tired, her cheeks are wet, and in those moments, she never feels beautiful. She only ever feels empty, and desperate.

She wants to scream. Wants to scream at herself, for not being able to let go. Wants to scream at Sam, for choosing Emily. Wants, to scream, in general. She was once so strong. Always, so strong. The strongest. Looking at herself now, she only feels small and pathetic.

She lies down, and for a moment, she can feel the warmth of his arm wrapping itself around her. His voice seems to come to her, and whispers in her ear. "It's okay, love, it was just a dream."

She doesn't want to turn. She knows, in reality, he isn't there, and she knows if she turns, the fantasy will vanish as well.

She allows her mind to wander again, though this time, the images that come to mind are vastly different.

His hair is cut short now, his eyes cold, his demeanor indifferent. He is a changed man. Wolf? She can still feel the burns of tears down her cheeks, as she looks away. She is above letting him see her cry… isn't she?

"I'm sorry," he says. She can hear in his voice that he isn't. "Shit happens. Life goes on."

She watches him leave, watches him head towards her. He doesn't hear the whispered, "It doesn't."

He didn't hear it then, and she knows he won't hear it now. "It doesn't." She lets her tired eyes close, and hopes that sleep will overtake her.

a/n: It's been a while since I've written anything, haha. I'm, not quite, off of hiatus, yet, so those hoping for updates on anything are kind of out of luck, sorry guys. The most I will probably ever do is post the occasional, extremely depressing Leah/ Sam thing. I is sorry ):
