"Don't Worry Sazh"
Summary: Traversing through the Vile Peaks was a risky enough buisness and that was where she made the vow to herself. To look after the man she loved.
So, I was playing Final Fantasy XIII again and kept thinking to myself how much of a cute couple the two are and then I went on here to look at fics and saw the low amount... *still shocked* And, well, since I have a few fic ideas for the two I figured I would get started on them. ^.^ And here is the first one, enjoy!
She had said the words in an effort to comfort him as they ran through the Vile Peaks, dodging the army only because Hope and Lightning seemed to have PSICOM's complete attenssion. They still run into plenty machines on the path out of the junkyard, various Pulse machinary scattered around them, ready to walk-crawl out of the shadowed open halls.
Vanille glanced over her shoulder until her eyes found Sazh running to catch up with her. His arms were waving up in the air as he yelled for her to slow down and how he couldn't move as fast as her. She smiled turning fully to watch him come closer to her.
He was a handsome man, she had decided this upon seeing him. Then again she didn't really have any bad opinions about her companions in general even if they were all rather split up at the moment. His dark hued eyes drew her in though. The way he had his mustache was cute too. She would never use the word cute to describe him out loud though. The boys and men back home hadn't liked it so she figured it was the same here. The way his outfit hid most of his other aspects was frustrating though. Even if she could see the top of his chest that had the Pulse I'Cie mark branded upon it she could tell he was muscular. Not that you needed much to weild dual guns.
"Thanks for waiting up." Sazh said bringing her out of her thoughts quickly. She cocked her head at him, looking on with his hands on his knees as he sucked in air through his lungs. "You kids are fast." He said while taking another breath.
Her heart clenched and she scowled turning quickly so he wouldn't see her change in expression though he must have sensed her change in demeanor. "Yeah, I'm just a kid." She repeated from earlier before running forward quickly, still staying in sight though she would really like to take off right about now. Her annoyance was quickly driven from her. It's not like he knew she was hundreds of years older than him, and she did look like a kid. It was a natural response to him.
Sighing she stopped once more and sat on a rock to turn and wait for him once again. This way it wasn't weird for her to keep looking at him, and she could. Her smile graced her features just watching him move through the rubble.
"Hurry up old man!" She called down. If he was going to keep calling her a kid anyways she might as well do the opposite. That is until he learned the truth himself so she wouldn't feel guilty about coming on to him. For now she was content to watch and wait, just looking over him. Whatever happened in the coming days she would protect him.
What did you think?
