Naraku used the last of his energy to impale Kikyo with a vine. She let a scream escape her lips which would have been much louder had the life not been fleeting from her body as she fell to her demise. An injured Inuyasha let out a final scream for his ex-love. They all watched in a slight daze as Naraku burst into a million pieces of rotten flesh.

Kikyo lay limp on the floor. She was dead, that was plainly obvious. Sandy, Miroku and Shippo watched sadly as Inuyasha staggered towards her still form. Kagome however had been pulled into some kind of trance, however no one else had noticed her eyes gloss over.

As if she were not in control of her own body, Kagome calmly and slowly, almost painfully so, walked over to where Kikyo lay with Inuyasha on his knees next to her. Every one seemed to have noticed she was not herself.

"Kagome what are-", Inuyasha was cut off by her finger on his lips.

Kagome sat down beside Kikyo's dead body. Her hair had fallen so that it was completely covering her face. All one could see were the tears dropping on the ground.

Suddenly, an eerie pink light engulfed Kikyo and herself, throwing Inuyasha back.The rest of the Inu-gang watched as Kagome's and Kikyo's souls sprang out of their bodies. Kagome went limp and fell on top of Kikyo.

"KAGOME!", Inuyasha yelled. He tried to get to her, but an invisible force seemed to be blocking his, or anyone else's, path to her.

The 2 parts of the one soul Kikyo and Kagome shared swirled around each other until finaly becoming one. The now unified soul sprang up even further in the air until finally shooting into…Kikyo's body.

Every one stared in horror. This wasn't supposed to happen! Kagome was supposed to have her soul returned to her! Wasn't she?

But no, Kagome lay there. Dead.

Runs away from angry Kagome lovers I'm sorry! I just HAD to try and write something different. I know its really short, but I did come up with this in about 5 seconds….please review even if you hate it, at least tell me why u didn't like it. Please refrain from telling me how it was too short, I know it was but it was just an idea that sprang into my head that I had to write down.
