Hello Readers. This is a rewritten story. I deleted the original to rewrite the same story but with better writing skills. Because of how bad the writing was before and how poorly it developed, I am working to make this story more polished and complete. I hope you guys enjoy and please let me know what you think in the comments!

Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha.

The Village

She paced near the outskirts of the village. She knew she had a mission to complete, but was hesitant. She knew what this mission meant to her people and that it had to be her. If she didn't, her brother would and that meant terrible consequences for the people in the village.

This village was fairly large in size and had many men and women protecting it. Some were even said to possess spiritual powers of some sort. Despite the size of the village and the numerous people to protect the village, they were often attacked by demons. None have made it past the tree lines. She assumed that's because of someone with strong spiritual powers. She had been there long enough to just sense the demons that had tried to attack but were quickly cleansed from existence.

She was worried. If she didn't hurry, the others were sure to get restless and might intervene. She hated the way they acted so rashly. And she never liked the idea of killing innocent humans. Not that she, herself hadn't enjoyed the thrill of the hunt at one point. But she had moved past that part of her life and tried not to look back.

I have to figure out a way in without being purified. But how? She thought. She sighed and sat down by a tree and looked up at the moon. It was already past midnight.

Even if I tried to enter the village now, I'd have to find a place to stay soon. And a lone woman walking alone at night coming from a forest full of demons doesn't look good. I'd be killed immediately like those other demons. I'll need to prove myself in front of the guards. Maybe if I can kill some demons right on the edge of the tree line… Enough for them to see that I need help and maybe hurt… That might work!

She stood up from her spot of the ground and looked around for any demons she could kill or attempt to kill. She'd need to play it as if she were human. And maybe even get injured in the process. She took out her dagger and waited for the opportunity to present itself.

She didn't have to wait long.

Two demons that looked like overgrown brown bears appeared. They were each the size of a small house and had glowing red eyes. It looked like this wasn't their first stop because they each had some small fresh cuts showing some sort of fight. By the look of blood dripping from their teeth and down their muzzles, it obviously ended with at least one person's death.

She threw a rock hard enough to get ones attention. It looked at her briefly before continuing towards the village.

Damn. These things are too focused on the power coming from the village to even care about me. I'll have to really piss it off. She appeared next to the first one in a flash and sliced through its entire leg. It roared in anger and pain and fell over. The other one sniffed at its partner and growled at her. She waited for it and let it swipe its enormous paw at her. It's claws dug deep into her arm and side and sent her tumbling just past the tree line.

She looked up at the wall that surrounded the village. The guards stood there in shock.

"Please help!" She screamed. The demon bear that was unharmed came running right up to her and she staggered to her feet and tried to run towards the village entrance.

Please don't kill me. Please don't kill me! She thought as she ran. Just as the bear was about to attack her again, it disappeared with a roar. She looked back and saw that it had been killed with a powerful spiritual attack of some sort. Then the other bear cried out in the forest. It must have felt its partner's aura disappear. But the bear didn't come any closer. It hobbled off to lick it's wounds and fight another day.

"Are you alright?" someone asked. She turned and saw a man approach her. He was a young man who was quite handsome. He had short brown hair and beautiful brown eyes. His beautifully chiseled face became marred by worry once he got closer. "You're hurt! Let me take you to our healer. Can you walk?" He asked as he looked closer at her wounds.

"Yes I ca- Ah!" She winces as she tries to stand more upright. In an instant he picks her up carefully and is taking her inside the walls of the village.

"What is your name?" He asks her.

"Naforia…" She replies in between labored breathes of pain.

"It's going to be alright Naforia. We have a wonderful healer here. She will help… You will get through this." He looks at you and smiles a brilliant smile.

"Thank you…" Naforia says looking into his eyes. He's quite handsome. I've lived so long and only met a few that can compare. Maybe I can use him.

"What's your name?" Naforia asks wincing at the movements as he takes her up a steep hill.

"William. But you can call me Will." He says as he looks ahead. He slows down and comes to a stop outside of a small house he knocks on the wood next to the straw door. "Sanji, can you help? A woman has been injured by a demon."

An elderly woman pushes aside the door. It's clear she was asleep but is now alert and already assessing the damage done to Naforia's body.

"Quickly. Bring her inside and lay her next to the fire. I will get some salve and wrappings. Dear what is your name?"

"Naforia..." She replies weakly.

The older woman known as Sanji quickly begins to disinfect and cleanse the wounds, making Naforia hiss in pain.

"Will, hold her down, this is just the beginning. I need to finish cleaning the wounds to avoid infection." Sanji says with a needle in her teeth. Will does as instructed and holds down Naforia's shoulders gently but firmly.

A while later, Naforia is laying down on a futon all bandaged up and asleep. Sanji and Will are out cleaning their hands in the river at the bottom of the hill.

"So she was attacked by bear demons?" Sanji asked.

"Yeah. We had a few other demons earlier in the night trying to get in… It's amazing she made it out of that forest alive." Will said thoughtful.

"Poor girl probably wasn't traveling alone. Could be that the bears attacked her and some others nearby and she was lucky enough to run in the right direction." Sanji says with sorrow in her voice.

"The bear that was charging after her had blood in its teeth. It's a real possibility." He thinks for second and remembers something. "I think she may have injured the other one. After we killed the one that charged, the other bear paced nearby but didn't come out. It went in the other direction and afterwards when the men went to check for anyone else nearby, there was demon blood all over the ground. Come to think of it she came in with a sword and a dagger… Maybe she's a demon hunter."

Sanji stops washing her hands and looks up at Will. "A demon hunter? Do you think she came here to help guard the artifacts? They have said they needed more people to protect them since more demons started appearing lately."

"It's possible. Can you let me know when she wakes up?" Will asks as he looks at the rising sun.

"I will, but it might be awhile. The girl went through a lot tonight." Sanji says as she dries her hands on her apron. Will thanks the old woman and heads to his home to get some rest.

Meanwhile…

Naforia sits up and looks around the house. I guess my plan worked. I didn't realize how well I could play the helpless human role. She smirks and then it sinks into a frown. She can sense the sun rising. Shit. I guess I'll have to wait here and play injured mortal until I can freely roam again. I'll have to quickly come up with a plan. I'm in, but now what? I could maybe get close enough to this Will character to use him. Maybe if I can charm him and use him as a shield... At least until I'm able to complete this mission. Damn that bear hit me good. But this is nothing. I could heal within minutes if I wanted to but I need to hold off until I can get my hands on the damn amulet.

She lays back down and sleep starts to take a hold of her.

Not far off…

"Sesshomaru! Are you ok my Lord?" Cries a young girl.

"Yes Rin. I am fine." Says a cool voice.

"How dare you ask if Lord Sesshomaru is alright! Of course he is you brat! He's the most powerful demon to live! You think a bear demon could bring any harm to my Lord! And it was injured! It wouldn't even be a threat to one such as Lord Sesshomaru!" A squeaky irritating voice yells out.
