Undone
Before me I see the weft of my life,
each thread
a shining strand, stark
reminder of deeds,
friends, love and passions –
quenched, quiescent now,
till I remember
that I have loved thee, Amanda;
fair skinned enchantress,
human and so frail within my Vulcan arms.
Did you know, my wife,
my heart beat ever faster
for sight of you?
Illogical.
But yet, as memories
of silken hair
drifting between my fingers fades,
the deep oceans of your love
calls to me again,
warms me,
and I recall…
I am undone without thee.
