The Plan
"Hi, happy Friday." Nick told Jackie when she walked through the door.
"Thanks. Happy Friday to you too." She told him back with a smile.
"How was your day?" He asked.
"Good, except my students got mad at me."
"Why?" Nick asked with a chuckle.
"They want me to have the baby, and they didn't seem to like my excuse that it's not time for him to arrive yet, it was comical."
Nick laughed.
"Where are the kids?" Jackie asked, noticing how quiet the house is.
"Your parents took them to the park for a while so we could talk for a bit."
"Talk about what?" She asked.
"Well I've been thinking about what to get you for your birthday and for Valentines day and I decided that instead of giving you two little gifts I'd combine them and get you something big, here." Nick said as he handed her a wrapped present.
"Honey, don't give it to me now, my birthday isn't for a few more days."
"I know, this isn't your present, it's a clue, open it." She gave him a quizzical look before ripping off the wrapping paper.
"A photo album." She said.
"Yep, but not just any photo album, look at the pictures." He instructed.
Inside the album were solely pictures of Nick and Jackie together, but there was another theme, slight as it may be, it was pictures of different vacations the couple had been on together.
"Are we going on a trip?" She asked him.
"Hey, good call Mrs. CSI." He said with a smile.
"Sweetie that sounds lovely but I can't travel right now." She told him was she placed one of her hands on her rapidly expanding tummy.
"I know you can't fly, so what I decided to do was pick somewhere where we could drive too and so I made all the arrangements for us to go to San Francisco, I remember when we went to New Orleans that San Francisco was somewhere else you wanted to visit. Now because we have to drive we will only get a couple of days in San Fran but it still promises to be fun, the only thing is I made the trip for March when you have that week off of school for spring break so you wouldn't have to take time off, so your gift will be a little late for your birthday and Valentines Day but I figured you wouldn't mind, I thought for Valentines Day and for your birthday I would just take you out for a nice dinner. How's that sound?"
"That sounds amazing, you are so sweet." She told him as she leaned in for a kiss.
"Oh and I already made arrangements with your parents to watch the kids." He added.
She smiled and then once again started kissing him.
It was just getting steamy when they heard a key rattle in their door. They immediately unlocked their lips and within seconds all five kids along with her parents came bursting through the door.
"Hi mama." They said as they came over to her.
"Hi guys, did you have fun at the park?" She asked them.
"Yeah." Four of the kids said while Sloan just smiled and put his arms in the air so Jackie would pick him up.
Nick smiled at his family, it had been a great day, even if his and Jackie's make out session had gotten interrupted!
