Leave It All Behind

There was an odd bubbling noise filling her ears as she faded back into the world. Then a smooth, smoky scent wafted passed her nose. Her eyes fluttered open, becoming fearful almost instantly. She couldn't see out of her left eye, she couldn't even open it. Sitting up, she flailed about looking for a mirror.
"Calm down. Getting all riled up will only succeed in opening your wounds."
"Morrigan? Where am I?" then she remembered the Blight, "The Archdemon?"
"We're back in the Wilds, and the archdemon has been slain. Congratulations are in order for you warden."
"But I'm supposed to be…" she looked down at her bandaged hands.
"Dead? Yes, well your little elf friend had other ideas," the onyx haired mage deftly let her hand ghost over her stomach and she sighed, "he would not allow me rest until I performed a ritual to save your life. And I know how much you wished to perish in that battle. I had to keep both of you, hot blooded elves happy."
"But I'm still alive… My problem still exists," Eve retorted.
"Ah, but I've given you an opportunity at a new life. Everyone believes you did perish.
"Even…"
"Yes even your precious king," her words dripped with venom, "I swapped out your unconscious body with that of a corpse I hexed."
Eve was quiet for several moments, her mind was going over all the things she could do. She could return to everyone, proving her death false, or she could take up Morrigan's kind offer and leave Ferelden to start over anew. Her memory decided to kick back in and her dark secret came back to her.
"Morrigan, am I still?"
"As far as I can tell the little beast growing inside you is unharmed."
Eve's gaze returned to her hands, as they fidgeted nervously in her lap. She needed to leave, and take her burden with her. A bowl hovered just on the edges of her sight and she took it.
"You need your strength so eat up," it was an order hidden under a kind tone.
Eve took one sip, and her stomach took control of her body. She raised the bowl to her lips and chugged the soup like a madman starved.
"Just as expected. A ravenous appetite after being out cold for a week is normal, yes?"
"I've been unconscious for a week?" she mumbled wiping her face off on her sleeve.
"Well only five days," Morrigan took the Warden's bowl and filled it again, "I thought you'd be out much longer. You still surprise me, Eve."
The wounded elf took her bowl back, and this time sipped its contents slowly, "Thank you. For saving me a-and nursing me back to health."
"It's the east I can do for a… friend," the word appeared to be foreign on the witch's lips.
"I've decided, I will take your kind offer of a new life.
"A good choice indeed. I can offer you a small amount of supplies and any silence, but that is all. When you part from here I will not be around to get in contact with, Warden."
"Understood."
"Now go back to sleep. I will prepare a pack for you."
"Thank you so much Morrigan. I mean it."

A/N: I'm prolly going to post a lot of Dragon Age Fanfiction now revolving mostly around my Warden Evgenii Tabris. I was hoping the stories could go as far as Dragon Age II if i write it correctly. I might even try to explain all the events leading up to this, but I like the freedom that comes with after game stories. :3
