After a long day, Nicki sat on the bench by the seaside, her eyes closed. She was trying to clear her troubled mind. One overwhelming obsession had taken over her conscience.
She didn't want to consider it though. He would never like her.
Tom would never love Nicki.
Why would he?
It wasn't like she had any special qualities making her stand out.

After a long day, Tom sat on the sofa, staring at the blank TV in front of him. The idea had been ludicrous of course.
They were just friends.

It wasn't like she'd ever shown any sign of attraction towards him.

Suddenly, Nicki got up. She needed to tell Tom how she felt. She couldn't take this. Him not knowing.
Where would Tom be right now. Work? No, he's left there hours ago. His house. He must have been there.
Nicki knew where his house was. In fact, if she ran really fast, she'd be able to reach there in a mere five minutes.
Tom stood up. He needed to tell Nicki how he felt. They'd been drifting apart for ages and if he didn't say something then it would never happen.
He didn't know where Nicki lived though. Instead he just walked outside his house in the small hope that he'd see her.
Nicki gasped. Tom's house was in sight now. And he was standing there.
She sprinted faster.
'Tom!' She called out.
Tom stared. It was Nicki. Why was she running to see him?
His heart gave a somersault and she approached him, panting.
'Tom,' said Nicki panting, 'there's something I've got to tell you.'
'There's something I've got to tell you too!' Exclaimed Tom.
Surprised, Nicki looked into his eyes and, in the heat of the moment, grabbed him and kissed him
