So this is after the end of Secret Santa,
and Gillian and Cal are talking.
And suddenly she just pulls him onto the dance floor.

She grabbed his arm out of nowhere,
dragging him towards the dance floor.
"C'mon luv. This isn't funny, you know I can't dance."
"Just watch me; you'll get the hang of it."
Well, at least the first part wasn't hard.
What was hard was not watching her.
She'd changed into a tight red dress that was
just a bit too small for an office Christmas party.
Before he could protest further, she'd placed his hands on
her hips and her arms were around him.
He barely remembered to breathe.
Not that their stance lasted long.
The next song that came on had them
spinning across the floor perfectly in tune with the music.
Dancing as one.

Something was different about the way she was

prolonging contact for a few seconds longer than normal.

Somewhere in the back of his mind something
was trying to tell him to stop,
that he shouldn't be kissing her back.
That he should turn away before
she broke through his shell.
But another part of him practically yelled that she'd
done that years ago, and that it was too late
to turn back now.

What their employees were thinking he didn't know,
not that it mattered to him anyway.
What did matter were Gillian's lips against his,
trying to fit years of passion into one kiss.
Trying to find anyway they could to show
just how much she really loved him,
and that this wasn't just some act
to screw with everyone at the office,
or Zoe and Alec.

Icy blue with the slightest hint of green gazed back at him,
taking in every inch of his churning hazel eyes.

and they left the noisy conference room for his library.
