Standing Tickets

"Gerry it's 7 o'clock in the morning. The concert starts at 8 tonight there is no way we need to get up yet." Sandra moaned as she was woken up and handed a cup of coffee by Gerry who had already got showered and dressed.
"Sandra I think you're missing the point, the tickets are standing tickets and they are pointless unless you're at the front."
"And you can be at the front no one else is going to be getting up now ready for tonight now."
"Well that's why you're at a disadvantage. Anyway you're missing the point, I didn't take the morning off."
"Fine well you better come home as soon as you can because I'm not waiting and I want to leave before 2, there's an afternoon of horse racing before the concert."

"I'm home." Sandra called as she walked back into the house.
"Good, you have just enough time to get changed before we go."
"Change?"
"Well yeah baby it's the premier enclosure and you have to be dressed smartly."
"I'd consider my work clothes smart."
"You need more smart."
"Fine, I'm going to ignore the fact you're getting stressy and go and get changed and then we're going to go. I am going to do my best not to kill you but this better be good." Sandra told him.
"It will be brilliant."

"Right so we're here. It's two o'clock and the music starts at 8 and that's if they're on time. Now what?"
"You are seriously missing the point Sandra, we're on the barrier. We're at the front."
"I swear it's only teenage girls who get so bothered about being on the barrier when seeing there favourite artist. In fact look around Gerry, most of these people are teenage and if not, not far off it."
"Well she's a modern singer and good looking, of course she has a lot of fans. There are some adults here, look around."
"Gerry they are parents of the teenagers or the younger fans. I doubt many of them are here for themselves and if any are they aren't bothered about being at the front."
"Well there's no point arguing, we're here now."
"And what are we going to do for 6 hours?!"
"Take in the atmosphere."

"Told you it'd be worth it!" Gerry shouted over the screaming fans as Jessie ran off stage.
"I have to admit that's one of the best concerts I've ever been to."
