"Oh my god," said a woman with a Tennessee accent.
"Oh my god," she repeated.
"Miley, I'm so sorry for you. I can't believe it happened either," said her friend, a usually bubbly blonde.
"Why?"
"I don't know. He was a good man. He never did anything horribly bad. He just had to be there at that drive by."
Miley's husband Oliver Oken had been caught in the middle of the drive by. He was barely alive; life support was helping him live.
If he didn't show any signs of getting better, Oliver was going to be taken off life support…
One month later
"We are gathered here to mourn the death of Oliver Oscar Oken."
His wife Miley was standing at his casket. Her face was blank, she was standing still, but tears were running down her face. She remembered his last words: "Miley," he took a shuddering breath,"I love you. Remember…" then he died. He just died. Like that.
At Miley's House
Miley was alone at her house, previously Oliver's too. She was sitting in her and Oliver's bed. Miley turned her head and stared at the window…What she saw surprised her. It made her happy…

"Hello, Oliver. I missed you."
But he left, and Miley quickly got dressed and drove to the cemetery. She got out of the car and ran to his grave. She saw his shadow on it, the moonlight shining…

"I will stay here forever, Oliver," Miley whispered. "Because, even in death, I know our love goes on…"

She heard a soft voice singing a song. "Even in death our love goes on," the voice sang. Miley just smiled and said, "They'll say I'm crazy for seeing and hearing you. But I'm not. And they won't know you can't leave me alone, they won't know you're singing to me…"

"I'm not leaving you, Miley, not again," Oliver whispered.

Two voices started to sing, "I will stay forever here with you, my love, the softly spoken words you gave me, even in death our love goes on." Miley and Oliver were singing together at his grave…

Miley stood up, and whispered to Oliver, "People die, but real love is forever."
They linked hands, and stood together while the dawn rose…
