This one is for all the Warren/Layla lovers...who obviously see the truth...
I only recently watched Sky High, but the ending irked me. After all that great chemistry between Warren and Layla and all the squee-ness...she still goes with Will? WTH? That's not how my movie ended...that's for sure...
The hallway was crowded, with babies being brought into the "Mad Lab" so that they could be aged properly, and with the proper authorities bustling about trying to get a clear idea of just went down. Principal Powers was grinning, despite the obvious toil the night had taken on her. She congratulated the sidekicks on helping stop the evil plot of Royal Pain, then turned to Will and Warren, the only "heroes" of the group, and the ones who, in old times, would have gotten all the credit. Neither of them was having it.
Will flushed and looked over at Layla. "Couldn't have done it without my friends." Now, despite events of the weeks prior, Warren Peace was included in Will Stronghold's list of friends. Will stepped close to Layla, Warren's "date", and grasped her hands. "Layla..."
Suddenly she pulled a hand free and covered his mouth. "Shh! Doesn't matter."
Will looked confused. "What do you mean?"
"I mean that while I was waiting for you to stop being an idiot and see me...I saw someone else." Layla stepped around Will and next to Warren, who was as sullen as usual.
"You don't have a crush on me anymore?" Will asked, slightly heartbroken, but not entirely. After all, he'd only just this night tried to view Layla as a...woman...and had struggled with it.
"Nope," she answered, slipping her hand into Warren's, who pulled away and stalked off down the hallway. "He's shy."
Will watched incredulously as Layla trotted after Warren, who after a minute of ignoring her, gave in and wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her into the quickly refilling gymnasium.
Zach and Magenta shook their heads. Finally, Zach took pity on Will and explained. "See, chicks don't like to be ignored, and when you started ignoring Layla, she tried to make you jealous, but in between practice make-out sessions, she and Warren actually started to, you know, like each other."
"They had practice make out sessions? With my arch-enemy?" Will asked, still kinda akimbo in the entire situation.
Magenta laughed evilly. "Well, the attraction was there all along. Did you and Gwen...sorry...SUE just stare at each other for the past three weeks?"
Will flushed again and grinned sheepishly. "For an evil girl, she had great lips."
Zach laughed. "I bet. They looked...Magenta? Why are you walking away?"
Will followed as finally, everyone was back in the gym. Principal Powers was talking to the few superheroes (as in adults) still around, and someone had cranked up the music again. Everyone was dancing and happy, or making out and happy, or in the case of Zach and Magenta, arguing and happy.
Will turned and smiled when he saw a cute blonde enter the gym behind him. "Hi! I just saved the school, wanna dance?"
And the world kept turning...
Yeah...it's short...but sweet...
