A/N: Meh, i'm in a drama mood today, and i was reading kh fics. I don't own kingdom hearts, though i wish i did. I wish i owned a lot of stuff actually. Anyways...on to my little drabble.

...There used to be this boy...

Somewhere in my Memory

a KH2 drabble by Ashi of the Instrument Trio

---

Sometimes she thinks she hears him whisper her name as they sit in the usual spot. She sits up alert and glances around, but there's no one there...was there ever?

It's only them. Hayner, Pence, and Olette. Day after day, they hang out. Buying seasalt ice cream, riding on the train to the beach, to other towns, finding odd jobs, making plans, playing struggle. It's always only been them, right? That's what she thinks, but she can't help but feel as if something...no, someone is missing.

Sometimes she thinks she sees him as she walks around, hanging out with the guys. She turns her head to get a better glimpse, but he's gone.

There never was a blonde boy. With wind carresed spikes, and deep ocean blue eyes reflecting his kind, light-hearted soul. He was never there, he never laughed, never frowned, he never played darts with Hayner, he never went into town to find the mysteries that lay hidden, he never was. But she could still hear his laugh, still see that frown, she could see the frustration on his face, and the confusion in his eyes. But as she opened her eyes, he wasn't there, he never was...was he?

Something's missing, and she knows it. Past memories of a boy, a group of friends, times that never happened. The pictures show only them. Hayner, Pence, and Olette, but she knows he was there.

She asks about him, but everyone gives her blank stares. The memories are there...but fading slowly...There was a boy...she thinks. Then one day, he comes. Not the boy who was missing, but another. Brunette, but with the same deep ocean blue eyes that reflected the same kind, light-hearted soul. He seemed familiar...but, she'd never met him before. No, never had she heard of a Sora. Even so, the memories slowly returned, memories of a boy, memories hidden from long ago.

She knows he's out there, and she knows he's real, but something seems out of place...Her mind tells her that he never existed, but her heart knows the truth...

And as Sora leaves, she feels as if a part of her is leaving as well. Like, a life-long friend is leaving her, and things will never be the same. Somehow, her heart fills with overwhelming sadness and despair as she watches him leave, although she only knew him for a day. And as the train doors close, a name floats into her head, whispered on a breeze, as the last breath of summer slowly dies...

Roxas...

I always get depressed thinking about that part of kh 2. ugh, and then later when Axel's all "i'll miss you"

then i get teary eyed, and my sibling laughs at me. hmph.
