Chapter One

"I'm not in with you love Kagome. I'm in love with Sango."

The festering wound in her heart throbed and ached as the memory washed over her while she watched the happy newlyweds snuggle together in front of the dying fire. Her crestfallen copper eyes glazed over as she watched the embers and remembered the heartbreaking scene.

"But Inuyasha you promised..." she gasped as her heart splintered.

"Kagome you knew that we could never be together. You knew that it was Kikyo I loved not you. I care about you Kagome just not in that way. We would never have worked out." his voice was consoling but the meaning the his words conveyed was agony itself. Inuyasha left her alone to her desolation.

Solem violet eyes swirled with sadness and indecision as they watch the disperted young woman shed a single tear and leave the clearing with a new more deadly determination.

She stood on the edge her decision wavering. Her eyes glisted bright with tears and her hair floated in the wind wet with sea mist. As she moved to take a step off the edge strong arms encircled her and pulled her away.

"Kagome would you really choose to end your life because of a man like Inuyasha. The same type of pain was inflicted on me and I would never choose to kill myself. Kagome you are young and have a bright future there will be some one else for you." Miroku's violet eyes were bright with emotion as Kagome claspsed into his arms and sobbed.

"I loved him so much Miroku. I gave up my life and my family to be with him." she regained herself as she began to speak.

"I know Kagome, But even in this world there is someone else for you. Kagome he is not worth it. Plus we need you to defeat Naraku." he gently patted her hair. In the recent months he had become more solem and not as lechorous as before.

"Thankyou Miroku. I needed that so what do we do now. Just sit and watch them be happy?"

"Well i was goin to the shrine for a few days. Would you like to join me?" Miroku asked suddenly very happy.

"Well...I guess anything would be better that watching those to together."

"Alright then. We leave in the morning!"
