A bit of magic, a bit of stardust
She sat in her room, gazing out of one of the four windows watching. Watching space, the dark sky, the bright stars and the complete silence. Gathering her thoughts she smiled, a bitter sweet smile as she remembered her other self. Her younger, happier, purpler, pixie self. The person she wished her was and the person she missed the most.
A knock at her door pulled her out of her thoughts.
"Come in." She called out, never turning from her spot.
"Trance?" Harper's voice called out as he stepped into the dark room.
"What can I do for you Harper?" She asked him, still never turning from her spot.
"Can we talk?" He asked her, coming to stand behind her.
"What about?" She asked him, her voice low.
"About what happened." He told her, talking about the 'switch'.
"Sure." She informed him.
"What happened?" He asked, dropping in the chair beside her. "I don't understand how I can see my 'purple princess' one minute and then you the next?" He needed to know what happened and where 'she' was.
"You did all this Harper." She answered him. "You built the machine, all I did was switch places with your 'purple princess'." She smiled then, not allowing him to see, as she remembered a time when he had called her that.
"Why?" He grilled her, now getting mad, he wanted his Trance back not this new golden Trance.
"Because it's gotten even worst and this is the only way it can be fixed." She told him, holding herself back from yelling at him.
"Fix what?" He asked her, getting his emotion under control.
"Fix what's going to happen, make it better." She answered him with short answers, she knew she couldn't get to deep into it but she wanted to help him understand.
"Like you 'fixed' me?" He sarcastically asked her.
"Yes, just like that." She yelled at him as she stood and turned to face him her red hair falling down her back. She couldn't believe he didn't appreciate that. Tears formed in her, still, brown eyes as she thought about the first time and how hard it had been to watch him die.
"Trance I'm…." She cut him off, she didn't need his pity.
"Do you know how hard it was the first time Harper?" She asked him, not waiting for his reply as she continued. "I felt like dieing when you died and that's when your 'purple princess' died, she grow up. I got a second change and saving you was the first thing I was going to do, I honestly don't know if it will be the thing to change the future and make it better but it was all I never wanted to do since the first time." She told him and she couldn't hold back the tears no matter how much she'd done it before.
He moved forward to hug her but she back away and turned to watched the stars again. "I wish I could be her as much as you want her to be back but this is the only way things are going to change." She told him, letting the tears slid down her face.
He came up behind her and turned her in his arms before pulling her close to him and holding her there. This Trance was different from his 'purple princess' in so many way but it was still her, her heart was still in the right place. But this Trance was also different from the 'golden goddess' he'd pegged her to be for his first look. This Trance WAS the 'golden goddess' trying to start again, trying to be something in the middle of purple and gold, in the middle of princess and goddess. She was his 'firey pixie' and for that he was happy because with that he always had his princess, his first love but also he always had, what he knew he never got in the future; his goddess, his only love.
