The Reverse Flash Returns:
Alternative Ending
(how I think it should have ended between Barry and Patty so I hope you enjoy)
Barry and Joe walked from the infirmary where Cisco was laying comfortably after the tough day with Reverse Flash, Barry had been doing his best to avoid Patty and now she was on the train heading to Midway City.
Joe looked to his adoptive son and smiled sadly "So… Patty on the train to Midway?" he asked and Barry nodded his head.
"Yeah" he replied, he thought he was ready to give up and let her go but his heart was not letting go, it was holding onto her tight.
"You know Bear, the last thing I want for you is to look back on your life and wonder… what if" Joe leaned back against the wall as Barry nodded.
"After everything I've lost… Patty needs to be safe" Barry replied running a hand through his own hair and Joe smiled.
"Tell me Bear… do you love her?" Joe asked and Barry nodded.
"Yes" he replied without hesitating.
"Then show her" Joe smiled as Barry looked to his suit and smiled before speeding off after her train.
Train to Midway:
Patty was sitting in her seat in deep thought, Barry was on her mind and how he never told her he loved her, she often wondered if he would have told her the truth that he was the Flash instead of leaving her to figure it out for herself.
But one question still haunted her 'did he love her?'
A hard gust of wind blew into the train car startling everyone, Patty looked from the window and smiled when she saw it was Barry in his Flash outfit.
"Patty" he called, his voice no longer vibrating… Patty smiled and took a deep breath before standing up.
"Flash" she replied and he smiled turning to face her, his body no longer vibrating.
"I just wanted…" he froze for a few minutes taking a deep breath.
"Yes?" she motioned him to continue and he sighed doing something she was not expecting… he pulled his mask off revealing himself to her and to the other passengers.
Patty gave a tearful smile as she walked closer to him slowly and he smiled "I love you Patty" he whispered and she let a tear escape as she replied deep "I love you too Barry" she wrapped her arms around his shoulder kissing him as she felt his arms wrap around her mid-section keeping her close to his body, a few of the passengers were muttering to each other in shock and Patty pulled back "I will miss you Barry" she whispered brokenly and Barry was doing his best not to break down either… that was the last thing he wanted the passengers to see.
"I will miss you too Patty" he whispered back pressing his forehead to hers and she smiled letting a sob escape before pulling back and taking his mask in her hands and pulling it over his head.
"Be The Flash… be my hero" she whispered and he smiled "Always" he pulled back and she watched him speed away.
Once it was all clear she collapsed back into her seat willing herself not to break down in tears as she whispered deep "Goodbye Barry"
Barry on the other hand sped by the side of the train until his emotions overcame him and he fell out of super-speed and fell to his knees as tears spilled freely down his cheeks as he watched her train fade into the dark.
"Patty… Goodbye" he said as he sobbed hating every about the situation… hate for being the Flash… Hate for The man in yellow who murdered his mom and finally hate for losing everyone he loved.
The darkness closed in and he shook himself off, keeping his promise to Patty… to be her hero… To be the Flash and with that he sped into the darkness back and back into the light now ready to make any sacrifices that came his way.
