"I think he's waking up." He heard someone whisper.

Slowly he opened his eyes. Where was he? Who was he with? Where was that damned needle noggin to whom all blame was placed. "N…Needle noggin…" He whispered weakly.

"Shhh…" Someone gently pressed two fingers to his lips. "Don't talk."

"Where…am…I..?" He asked, ignoring her warning.

"I told you to hush."

"Right…" He whispered, drifting off into a deep sleep.

~~~~~One Month Later~~~~~~~
"Nick…tell me the truth, why were you all banged up when I found you?"
"Chi, I've already told you that it's better if you didn't know." He answered. (A.N: Chi is short for Chiaki which is her real name.)
She whimpered slightly. "you trust me…don't you..?" She asked sweetly.
He kissed her forehead lightly. "I'll tell you the truth someday…" His sentence was interrupted by an explosion to the West.
Chiaki pressed herself against him. "What was that?!" She asked, her eyes closed.
"I'll go check it out." He stood up and walked a few feet away.
"Nick…" He turned and faced her. She then tossed him a gun, complete with extra ammunition. "You'll need that." He stared at her, surprised to see that under her usually baggy clothes she wore an outfit much like Vash's, only her's was black, she held up her own gun. "I'm coming."
Wolfwood cocked his head to the side slightly out of sheer confusion. "Do you know how to use that?"
She walked up to him and kissed him lightly. "I would have told you eventually." She said. "But it's not like you told me much about you…not that was true."
"Hey! I never lied to you!" Wolfwood said defensively. "I just never told you the whole truth."
She grabbed his hand and pulled him onto the ground, just in time to see a bullet whiz by exactly where he was standing. He blinked a few times. "Who fired that?"
Chiaki stood slowly. "Finally! What took you so long to come back?!" She yelled, staring at the ground.
"Chi…I…don't see anyone…"
"It's Knives." She said calmly.
"You know him?!"
She nodded. "I know him very well…he's my father."
