Save Your Heart
SUMMARY: Set after BD, after a tragic run in with the volturi the cullen family were slaughtered leaving Jake without his Renesmee. After leaving Forks can Jake meet someone else or is Jake's heart beyond repair?
Chapter 1
Jacob's POV
My paws barely touched the soft dirt of the forrest floor. I had crossed the canadian border sometime last week keeping to the abandoned areas of forrests but I knew i had to turn back human at some point, after all eating deer was gross after a while.
I slowed down as I caught the scent of humans, may as well phase back now. I didn't really needor want to mix with people but the longer I stayed a wolf the higher the chances of being found, which would be a pain in the ass. I strecthed out my human limbs, which I didn't like all that much, it felt too limited. As I pulled on the pants and shoes I carried around in my bag I heard a small whimper from behind me. SHIT! I thought to myself. I'd never had the problem of a witness to my phasing and I wasn't quite sure how to deal with the girl I turned and saw, quivering behind a tree. For a long few seconds we just stared at each other. She assessed me with her eyes and took a small, catious step out from behind the tree, I had to admit the girl had guts, I would've ran. She looked me up and down again before taking another small step forward, she continued this until she was at arms length and then she just stared into my eyes.. almost searching them.
I didn't look back, instead I examined her. She was only small. Her face framed with short pale blonde hair that made her blue eyes pop. She looked only young. 16, 17 at the most but her eyes showed her age more than anything.
It was what she did next that suprised me. Without warning she reached out a delicate hand and gently brushed her fingers along the scar that ran down my arm, the scar I tried to ignore. I shivered at her cold touch as she pulled her hand back. "Oh." She said quietly in shock. "Sorry.." I figured the girl to be crazy as hell so without thinking I abruptly said "Uhh, don't tell anyone kay?" and turned to leave. "Where are you going?" she called after me. "Away" I answered without looking at her. I heard her footsteps follow behind me and she quickly stepped in front of me, stopping me. "Away from what?" She asked, her eyes confused and curious. "Just away." I mumbled as I stepped around her. Just as I did so I felt a small hand around my wrist. "You can't walk away without explaining what the hell just happened." Dammit I thought.
