"Amelia time for bed" River called. The Doctor stopped running and looked up at Amelia, who was sitting on his shoulders. River came into the playroom "Please tell me you haven't been running around"
"Okay" the Doctor said putting Amelia down.
"So have you been running around?" River asked.
"You said not to tell you" the Doctor said struggling not to smile. Amelia burst out laughing. "Amelia go and get your pyjamas on" River said. Amelia ran out the door. "Do you remember me saying not to get her excited before bed after the Ribena incident" River said.
"Umm no" the Doctor said.
"Ok but if she can't sleep, I'll find a way to make you sorry" River said smiling.
"You wouldn't?" the Doctor said thinking of something he loved.
"Oh I would" River said.
"You couldn't stand it either" the Doctor said.
"Try me" River said. Just then their daughter called "Mummy I can't find the toothpaste"
"Coming Sweetie" River called leaving.
River tucked Amelia in to bed. "Is Daddy coming to say goodnight?" Amelia asked.
"Um I'll go and see" River said getting up and going outside into the hall. River shut the door and called "Doctor get here now" the Doctor came running "What is it?" he asked.
"Amelia wants you to say goodnight" River said.
"Oh ok" the Doctor said opening the door. He sat next to the bed "Night night Pond" the Doctor said kissing Amelia's forehead.
"Goodnight Daddy" Amelia said. The Doctor stood up as River leant down and kissed Amelia "Sleep night Sweetie" River said. As the Doctor and River got to the door Amelia sat up and said "I'm not tiered"
"Yes you are" River said turning the light off.
The Doctor and River lay in bed reading when their bedroom door opened, in the doorway stood Amelia, in her white and pale blue pyjamas, holding her teddy bear. "I can't sleep" Amelia said. River looked at the Doctor meaningfully. "Come here, Sweetie" River said opening here arms. Amelia scrambled up onto the bed and got under the covers between her parents. The Doctor looked at his 3 year old daughter. Amelia nestled into River. After an hour Amelia had fallen asleep. "I told you not to excite her before bed" River said.
"She's asleep isn't she?" the Doctor said.
"Urgh honestly I have 2 children" River said.
"We should get her into her own bed" the Doctor said.
"Yeah" River said getting out of bed. The Doctor got up and picked Amelia up; he carried her to her room. The Doctor laid Amelia on her bed. Amelia's hair was fanned out on her pillow. The Doctor and River stood back and looked at their daughter, who was deep in a world of dreams, she had made herself.
