Doumeki was leaving the locker room, heading for his next class when he heard a very animated male voice. It sounded familiar and he decided he had enough time to go check out the commotion. As he neared the water fountains along one wall of the school near the field, he recognized the two people who were talking. The girl was Himawari Kunogi, the boy Kimihiro Watanuki.

As Doumeki caught sight of the blue-eyed boy, he felt a slight pang in his chest and his throat closed slightly. He did not know what the feeling meant, but dismissed it as irritation. Watanuki could be a very annoying character.

He slightly made his way toward the couple while listening to their conversation. Currently, Watanuki had a despaired look on his face as Kunogi smiled easily, "However the opponent's goalkeeper was also really good!"

They must be talking about the soccer match that had just ended. Sure enough, Kunogi continued, "And he is Doumeki Shizuka?"

The sound of his name seemed to have an impact on Watanuki as he slumped against the fountain wall almost as if wounded. Kunogi, however, didn't seem to notice the reaction as she commented on both boys' skills.

This latest comment on seemed to affect the bespectacled boy's spirit as he jumped up and started jumping about wildly, "That is a coincidence! That kind of idiot can't possibly block my goal! That's only a coincidence! Something impossible! Yes! It's a miracle! It must be a miracle!"

At this string of narcissistic nonsense, Doumeki could no longer hold his peace. Standing with hands on hips and giving his usual glare, he set the flailing boy straight.

"And in school miracles happen as many as six times?"

Watanuki whipped around, a vein starting to pop on his forehead. "The voice is Doumeki!"

Doumeki continued as if the interruption had never occurred. "I blocked you six times, and you still say impossible…"

Throwing a fist in the air, Watanuki continued yelling, "Shut up! That was on purpose, I made it easy for you on purpose!"

"Why?"

"Er…that's…because I pity you!"

Already bored with this conversation, Doumeki turned and started walking away. "Whatever, dumbass!"

Very annoying. Doumeki wondered why anyone would throw around such blatantly false accusations, willingly making a fool out of themselves. The boy was becoming an irritation and he had to get to class anyway.

However, it seemed the irritation would not so willingly let the topic drop. "Don't try to run away!"

Doumeki only turned his head to look back over his shoulder. "I'm not…If I continue to stay here with you idiot…I'll be late for my next class!"

"Don't call me an idiot!"

"You better get back to class now!"

"I'm getting back, you don't have to tell me that!"

He could still hear the boy's hollers as he walked back in the direction of his next class.

He thought of this encounter the entire trip to his classroom. It hadn't been the first time he'd clashed with Watanuki, but it seemed the most significant somehow. Not much had been said, and even though he was exasperated at the blue-eyed boy's attitude towards him, Doumeki couldn't help but feel somewhat…intrigued.

Doumeki smiled to himself as he walked into the classroom and chose a desk next to the open window. He had made up his mind. He looked out the window in the direction he had just walked from, golden eyes twinkling mischievously. Kimihiro Watanuki was the most interesting person he'd met in quite some time, and he wasn't about to let the opportunity pass.

Owari!
