A/N: So… I just watched "A-Tisket, A-Tasket"again and I absolutely had to write this… Enjoy!

Oh, right, disclaimer: I am a studio executive who decided to sit down and write me a little fan fiction. No, really, I'm being completely serious. I mean, I never did like what those darn writers did with the whole Jess-Rory-Dean triangle, anyway…

"I just wanted to put some notes in the margins for you."

"You see, it's the screwing with Dean – that's an important step to getting here so that I can be nice to you."

His words kept rolling around her head. They wouldn't go away, and it was starting to bother her – not because she didn't like those words being in her head, and certainly not because she didn't like the person who had said them, but because always having him on her mind made her feel guilty. She had a boyfriend – the perfect boyfriend. But instead of reveling in their relationship, all she could think about was how he made her feel.

She cast about for a word to describe this feeling filling her, almost consuming her, present every minute of every day. Pursued wasn't quite right – no, wait – cherished! Yes, that was how she felt, how he made her feel. When she was around him, it was like she was the only person he saw. Of course, she was probably the only person in town that he actually liked, so that wasn't a huge compliment. And yet, she was sure that no matter where they were, he would always act like that.

She didn't understand why she didn't feel that way with Dean. After all, he was very protective of her – today's drama had certainly been proof of that. He almost seemed in awe of her sometimes, as if wondering when she was going to wake up and realize that he wasn't good enough for her. She sighed, combing her hand through her hair. Maybe that was the problem. They had just happened to run into each other the day she left Stars' Hollow High, and everything had simply fallen into place after that. He had never needed to seek her out, and she had never expected him to. Even when they got back together, she had been the one to initiate.

Jess didn't need to seek her out, either – such was the wonder of small towns – but he did anyway. It was worth it to him… she was worth it to him.

She picked up the phone and dialed. Waiting to hear his slightly disgruntled voice (she knew she would be interrupting his reading), she contemplated the thought that perfect first boyfriends had their drawbacks. A girl could settle for less and not even know it.

"Talk."

She smiled. Luckily, she knew just the right guy to help her make sure that she never missed out on anything.

Don't you wish it really happened like that? But then, of course, we wouldn't have gotten to revel in the delightful enigma that is Logan Huntzberger…

Review, please! They make me happy, and the really cool part is that when you review, I go read your stories and review them! See, it's like the circle of review happiness… yay!
