A/N: I've always had a little thing for Seifer. So I made a poem about what he might think if he was dying after a gruesome battle to protect his true love…there really is no specific person he talks to or about, so you could just pretend it's someone from FF8…or, if you love Seifer as much as I do, pretend it's you he's talking to. Please R/R, and if I get enough reviews, I'll post up my poem about Irvine!

Never In my Darkest Days

Seifer looked up at his true love, grimacing as he fought to stay awake. But it was no use. The wound was fatal. He laid his head back resignedly, and his true love began to sob. "No, Seifer, no… stay awake…you'll be all right…"
He put a shaky finger on his true love's lips. "Shhh…" he began to say his final words in a soft whisper…
Never in my darkest days
Did I think I'd trip the line
Never losing the ambition
The ambition to survive
Put a burden in my hands, yes
The burden of my life
Walk away, do not stay
Don't want to watch you watch me die.
"No, I can't leave you…I never will…hang on, Seifer…" His true love sobbed harder.
Never in my darkest moments
Did I think I'd lose the fight
That I'd bow down to evil
And become pure evil's knight
The scar upon my face can't compare
With the scar upon my heart
Turn away, do not stay
I can't bear to see you cry.
"I'm not crying," his true love said stubbornly, though in truth his true love's tears were like rivers down that beautiful face Seifer longed to kiss… "Don't talk like that, Seifer. You're going to be fine. HELP!" His true love screamed, voice breaking. "Somebody help…"

Did I think I'd feel the need
The need for love I see in your eyes
A hunger I can't feed
Once a god, I was invincible
Made mortal by my greed
Walk away, do not stay
I don't want you to see me bleed.
Seifer's true love was reduced to grieving beyond tears, holding him tightly in those strong warm arms. "Please Seifer…I need you…don't leave me…how will I start tomorrow without you? I don't care that tried to destroy Garden. I don't care if you were the Sorceress' knight. You were always my knight in shining armor, not Edea's."
"My love…please listen. I am not finished."
Never in my darkest dreams
Did I ever see the light
How did I ever become lost
When your beacon shined so bright?
I was too late, now it's unstoppable
Death running through my veins
Goodbye love, turn away
Farewell love, turn off the light……
Seifer leaned upward with all his strength and kissed his true love deeply. Then, the last of his might leaving him, he fell from his true love's lips, his eyes closed in eternal slumber…
"NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!" his true love howled painfully, head tilted back at the gray thundering sky like a mourning wolf. His true love sank back onto his motionless chest, hearing the ambulances and SeeD members coming much too late…
So…sniff…what did you think? Hyne, it wasn't so sad when I wrote it down on paper…WAAAAAAHHH! I want Seifer to live!!!!!!! Why'd it have to be him? Why? Sniffs…wait a minute…*eyes go wide, snaps finger* I'm the one writing this dammed fic! I'll bring him back to life! Mwahahahaha! Seifer, you shall LLLIIVVVVEEE! R/R if you believe!!!
