Dust and ashes. That is what he said the wafers tasted like. That is how he described it. Dust and ashes.
Frodo looked down upon the sleeping forms of Samwise and Gollum – who was curled up like a tightly knit ball of string. He could see Gollum's eyes moving behind his eyelids, trying to see something in a dream or nightmare.
Frodo placed the wafer back into the bag and tried to wipe off the crumbs from his tongue. Dust and ashes.
