"It won't be long now." Elphaba whispered in a raspy voice that screeched with pain. Galinda put her pointer finger to the green girls lips. "Shush, Elphie.." the blonde trembled on her kneels.

She sighed dramatically placing her head on her arms, which were crossed relaxing on the edge of the bed. She was trying to lighten the mood, or at least make things better for herself. "Elphaba. Just think of... of... Somewhere over the rainbow!"

Elphaba shut her eyes slowly, blocking out the blondes squeaky voice.

"Elphie? Elphie... ELPHIE!" she screamed almost bursting into tears. Elphaba's eyes quickly shot open, "what Glin?"

Galinda calmed down, sighing. "Nothing... Don't scare me like that."

They heard a knock on the door and the blonde shot up bouncing to open it. "It's Nessie!" she sang. The wheel bound girl rolled into the room. A squeak, a squeal, a thud, silence.

"Nessarose?" Elphaba's voice strained. The brunette reached for her green sisters hand. "Ness...?" the sick girl wondered.

A single tear fell down her rosy cheek. She brushed a stand of hair from Elphaba's face. "Ye... Yes?" she stuttered to question. More tears escaped their watery prison.

"Don't waste your tears on me. I'll be fine." Elphaba whispered.

Nessa closed her eyes and inhaled deeply. Her head was spinning. She hummed a soft tune to her sister, no her friend, no. Her best friend.

Elphaba struggled to smile, "I'll be fine. I'll be with mother, at last." she pained.

"No, don't leave me. Fabala, please?"

The green girls gaze followed somewhere behind her sisters. "Mama?" the questioned extending her arm out and struggling to sit up. She instantly fell back sinking into the bed. Her eyes motionless still gazing at the same spot as before.

"Fabala?" the brunette tried. "Elphaba? Elphaba?" she then realized her sister was gone. She lowered her head rolling into the hall.

Fiyero passed by just then. Stopping he looked at Nessa, "where is Fae?" he asked he pulled out a small box from his pocket. Using his thumb he flicked it open to reveal a ring. "This is for her. I'm going to purpose." he smiled.

Nessarose started to wheel herself away. At last minute she turned her head back to look at the prince.

"You just missed her."
