So I finally have my first request! Skaterchick36 asked me to do a Toph/the Duke story. Not my ship, but I'm gonna try it.

The fire slowly glowed smaller and smaller before the Duke's eyes. He was the last one awake, the other's piled around the fire, dreaming blissfully as he kept watch.

The dying fire cast dancing shadows on the walls, highlighting the murals of the sky bison. He had always loved the airbenders, and to actually be living in one of their temples! This was amazing!

The Duke once thought he could never love anything more than the airbenders. Then he met a small blind girl, with a huge ego. As he thought of her, the Duke's eyes drifted to where she slept. Her spot was empty. His brown eyes swept the room, looking for any sign of his earthbender.

"Behind you."

The Duke jumped and spun looking up into the face of Toph Bei Fong.

"Why are you up? My watch is still for another few hours." The Duke said, profusely glad the pretty girl could not see his blush.

"Can't sleep. But since you have a few hours, what say you, we play a game." Toph asked, sitting next to him.

"I have to keep watch. I can't pl-"

"Just Truth or Dare. And don't worry, I'll help keep watch. Doubtless I'm better at it than anyone else," she said, tapping her toes into his knee.

After a pause, the boy finally relented.

"Sweet! I go first. Truth or Dare." Toph expectantly waited for his reply.

The Duke debated which would be a safer move. She would probably make him eat dirt or something if he said Dare. But what would she ask if he said Truth?

He decided to risk it. "Truth."

"Wimp," she said, before scrunching up her nose and beginning to think of a worthy question. " If you could eat the same thing every day, what would it be?"'

The Duke sighed in reliefe. "That's easy, Moon Peaches! Ok Truth or Dare?"

"Dare!" Toph exclaimed predictably.

"I dare you to kiss the person you like the most in our group." The Duke knew he was setting himself up to fail. There was no way, he would be the one. She would probably kiss Sokka, or maybe Aang, but definatley not-

Toph's lips were pressing against his. He was somewhat surprised by her accuracy but then forgot everything.

Toph pulled away. "Truth or Dare."

"What? That's it! You kiss me and then jump straight back into the game?" The Duke asked, still a little shocked from the game.

"I was completing the dare. Now answer, Truth or Dare."

"Duke knew he would now be murdered if he chose dare. "Truth."

"Do you like me?" Toph's blind eyes drilled into the Duke's.

"Yes." He answered timidly.

"Good. Toph answered, before leaning forward kissing him again, and then walking back to her blanket. "Just so you know, that's why I couldn't sleep."

The last two hours of the Duke's watch were the best he had ever had on watch.
