Why Wait?
Prompt: Why Wait- Rascal Flatts
What do you say, Girl, we do something crazy?
Quit putting it off, you know what I'm saying.
It ain't like it ain't gonna happen.
Forever's a given.
It's already written.
Who we kidding, baby, c'mon.
The stars can't line up any straighter.
Let's do it now and think about it later.
Why wait another minute for something we shoulda done yesterday.
Emily and Aaron had been dating for two tears. Aaron wanted to get married, but Emily wanted to wait a little longer. Aaron was nervous Emily didn't want to marry him.
One day, they were sitting on the couch, just relaxing. Aaron decided to bring up the idea of marriage again. "Emily, what about us, married?"
"One day, baby. I don't want to get married anytime soon."
"Why not?" Aaron asked, confused.
"Well, I like the way things are at the moment."
Love don't need a reason.
Baby, I don't see how I could love you anymore than I do today.
So why wait?
Now, i know your mama, let's save her some trouble.
And your daddy won't mind if we save him a bundle.
"Emily, I don't think I can love you anymore than I already do. Come on, Emily. Let's get married soon."
Emily was weary of this and didn't know how to respond. "Aaron, you haven't even proposed yet."
"I know, Just you wait." He said, smiling at Emily.
Girl, it just so happens, that ring that you wanted,
Well guess what I bought it.
It's in my pocket, baby, c'mon.
Let's get it done, let's get it on your left hand.
This is me, Girl, popping the question.
The next day, Aaron and Emily sat by the pool. They were just sitting by the pool and having a casual conversation, when Aaron pulled a small velvet box out of his pocket.
Emily saw the box and immediately began to cry. "Oh, my. Aaron!" Aaron smiled at Emily's shock and showed her the ring. "Emily Prentiss, will you do me the honor and be my wife?"
"Of course, Aaron. I love you."
Emily was just so shocked. She was finally getting married and she was definitely ready to, especially with Aaron.
Let's do something crazy, cause crazy's what you make me.
Why wait another minute?
I know a little church with a preacher who could hook us up right away.
Love don't need a reason.
Baby, I don't see how I could love you anymore than I do today.
One year later, Aaron and Emily were married. Their wedding was beautiful and exactly how they had imagined it. It was a small ceremony, but everyone they needed to be there, was there. It was such a peaceful and romantic day for the bride and groom.
They were married and couldn't wait to start the rest of their lives together.
So, why wait?
