14-year-old Mabel Pines couldn't sleep. She kept having a dream where her brother died. At the end, every time she would wake up in tears. It was only a dream, she would tell herself. Don't be silly. Dip is next door. She couldn't be certain though. The dream felt so real.

Pulling on her Windows '95 conference shirt that she used as pajamas, she got out of bed and went into the bathroom. She looked into the mirror and splashed some water on her face. Don't be a goofy goose, Mabel.

She went back to her room and snuggled into her pink fuzzy blanket, but she couldn't fall asleep. Her pig walked over next to her bed and she got out of bed and hugged Waddles while she cried. Pigs could be so reassuring sometimes.

She heard her door open and her brother walked in. He sat down next to her and hugged her. She looked up with tear-stained eyes.

"Dip, I…" she said, but he cut her off. "It's okay, Mabel. It's okay."
