Wreck

She came to with a whimper.
"Ssh. Take it easy now, all right?"
She opened her eyes, squinting at the blurry figure pressed against her. She gasped, tried to pull back, struggling when she couldn't move.
"Hey, hey now—take it easy. You're gonna be okay. "I'm John Gage, a paramedic with the L.A. County Fire Department. You've been in an accident. What's your name?"
"Mary. Mary Winchester." Her eyes flew wide as the word accident penetrated the fog. "My baby!"
John's gaze scanned the intact back seat as he said, "Baby?"
"I-I'm pregnant."
"How far along?"
"Just five months."
