QUICK CUT:
There is a close up, of a red nailed hand; Achren. She cuts her hand, and drops the blood in a bowl of poison with a life force of energy.
QUICK CUT:
Some kind of water sinks in Eilonwy's neck.
FFLEWDDUR
Taran, she's fading.
TARAN
What's wrong?
FFLEWDDUR
Her condition has worsened since last night.
Eilonwy struggles.
QUICK CUT:
Achren looks at the life force, as black mist covers it.
QUICK CUT:
Eilonwy struggles more.
TARAN
The Cauldron-Born are approaching. What do we do?
FFLEWDDUR
We'd have one less person to worry about, if it weren't for last night. He even asked you. If I were leading we could've found our way to the road, but you…
TARAN
I couldn't just leave him.
FFLEWDDUR
If you're really going to act for Lord Gwydion, you should know sacrifices are to be made. He would've done it. You can't save everyone.
TARAN
We don't have time for this!
QUICK CUT:
CU: Achren's angry eyes. She sticks her finger in the bowl, uttering a spell to make it faster.
QUICK CUT:
Eilonwy struggles. Taran grasps her hand.
TARAN
Eilonwy, stay with me. Come on.
FFLEWDDUR
It's a good thing you care for your companions, but if we slow down now, if we try to fight the cauldron-born, then Gwydion died for nothing.
QUICK CUT:
The black mist goes over the life force. CU: Achren's eyes slowly stop looking angry.
QUICK CUT:
Achren walks into the room, of Eilonwy; who is about 3 or 4. It's only been a few months after Achren brought her to Spiral Castle. Achren ordered her parents killed, but made her think it was Arawn. Eilonwy is sad and unable to sleep. Achren comforts her.
ACHREN
You miss your parents don't you? Listen, child, I know this must be very hard for you. I can't replace your mother. But the people of Llyr possess great power; I know I was once part of it, before Arawn arrested me, but he spared my life, I'd defeat him but I can't do it alone. Your people possess greater power than they realize, and that's why Arawn had your mother killed. I can teach you this power, when you are older, our combined strength, using the bauble and the book of empty spells; we can defeat Arawn. You possess this with your love, truth and knowledge. We can defeat him, and we will fulfill our potential; be what we were meant to be; enchantresses of power.
EILONWY
Can we bring Prydain to peace? The way it used to be?
ACHREN
Together, we can make it even better. I will teach you to be an enchantress, if you are willing.
Eilonwy gets up and hugs her, looking with her precious blue eyes, Achren looks at her with the memory of having wanted a daughter of her own one point in her life.
EILONWY
I love you, Achren. Is it all right, if I call you mother, while I live here?
ACHREN
Yes. Yes, you may.
She kissed her head, and smiled watching Eilonwy sleep.
QUICK CUT:
CU: a single tear washes down Achren's face; "the sexy cry." The black mist is sucked back into Achren's red fingernail, no longer trying to kill Eilonwy's life force.
CUT TO:
TARAN
We can't lose hope. We can hold them off, long enough for Eilonwy and Gurgi to escape.
EILONWY
I'm not going to run. I'm tired of running.
