This is just a short little story I thought about while listening to the songs "Safe and Sound" and "Eyes Open" by Taylor Swift o wo

Enjoy!

Thor watched his brother in horror as two guards pried them apart. How could Odin be so cruel? To his own son, even! Tears ran down Loki's face and he cried out, "Thor!". Loki had done something terrible, something unspeakable and was going to be exiled for it. No one had really explained what Loki had done to deserve such punishment but he didn't care what it was; Thor forgave his dear brother, he was only nine years old! Thor came to the realization that his brother would be gone. He would never see the dazzling lights of Asgard again, never would they run across the rainbow bridge together, laughing and having the best time of their lives. The god of thunder rushed after the guards. With a loud battle cry, one he had been working on with Loki, the boy jumped on the back of the larger man. He kicked and screamed, throwing the hardest punches he could at the man, his anger burning so brightly. Being so much larger than Thor, the man threw the ten-year old off his back and gave him a cold stare before continuing on. Loki stared at his brother in awe for a moment. He had come to...to save him? Thor assessed the situation and quickly came up with a plan before jumping back to his feet.

His back hurt from hitting the ground so hard but he ignored it, Loki was so much more important. Thor ran as fast as he could, sending his foot flying into the back of the guards' knee, causing him to fall forward. He did the same to the other before grabbing the crying Loki's hand and giving him a small smile. The two men started to get up as they realized what had just happened. Thor gripped his brother's hand tightly.

"Come on!"he yelled as he started running.

Loki wasn't as fast as him and he tripped a couple of times but Thor didn't slow down. He wasn't going to let his brother be taken away from him. Thor ran and ran, Loki doing his very best to keep up with his older brother, admiring his strength and stamina on the way. They didn't stop until they were deep in their mother's gardens. Thor breathed heavily, slouching over slightly to catch his breath. When he heard the loud yells of the security he stood up and pulled Loki out of plain sight. Thor was only ten but he knew of his duties to Asgard, he knew that one day he would have to become king and protect his home, protect his friends. He couldn't leave, but Loki could and he had to or else he would be sent off to another realm, alone and scared.

"Go, Loki! Now! You need to run. Run as fast as you can and don't ever look back." he said, nearly choking on his tears.

Loki's eyes glazed over and his tears spilled out, running down his cheeks and neck.

"But Thor! -"

Thor shook his head, knowing he wouldn't be able to keep the tears at bay for much longer. He had to keep them away, show Loki that he was strong.

"Come with me! We can run together! Please, Thor!"

"No, Loki. You can do it"

The yelling was getting closer and in no time, they would be discovered and Loki would be gone, torn from him just like before.

"Loki, now! Go!" he screamed, pushing the smaller god forward.

Loki wiped his tears before turning around and breaking into the fastest sprint he could manage. That was when Thor began to cry.
