Drabble. No own. Review.

He wasn't just her hero.

She'd told herself so many times that he could do it. He could be Spiderman and Peter Parker, at the same time. He could be both.

But somewhere, she knew, it was a lie. They could not be together, not when he had sacrificed his life to save the world. She admired him for it, and hated him for it.

And last, she loved him for it.

But he couldn't be both. He wouldn't put her in danger, not that she wasn't in it all the time. But she'd let him believe that she'd be okay, that not being together would keep her safe. She'd let him think it, no matter how it hurt her.

He had to be New York's hero, he couldn't be just hers.

But the selfish part of her wanted him, all of him. She wanted him to give in to his feelings, she wanted him to save she was more important.

But he wouldn't. He simply couldn't.

He wasn't just her hero anymore.
