Never Forget
Fireflies hover just above the ground while their glow illuminates the dewdrops on the fresh blades of grass. The stars seem to soak into the sea, and the soft echoes of the breeze and stream are the lullabies I doze off to.
Remember me?
In those moments, I'll lose myself in the night, searching for an answer. I'll walk in the rain at an attempt to hide my tears. Sometimes, I'll feel a stir in the atmosphere. At the heartbeat it started, it died down just as quickly. Yet it's there. I relive the past in my mind, asking myself if what happened was true after all. However, separating illusion from real is the hardest task right now.
But I still imagine. I imagine footsteps walking beside me. I imagine silhouettes that blend in with the shadows. I imagine what you'd say if you had given me an answer, and I wonder if that answer would trail behind me forever.
Through the golden lining in the clouds, the dance of petals in the breeze, the colors that fly like snow in light, from the shadows and stardust that hide within the embrace of the night, from the tears that frame this scene and blend with the rain, I can hear a whisper. A whisper so faint that even the winds recede to try and make out those delicate words.
Maybe it was your voice, answering me. Maybe it was only an empty promise echoing from the past, but how am I to know?
