Right For Once
"Fang- if I'm changing, if I'm turning into something…bad- will you deal with it?
If I turn into an eraser, will you deal with it? To protect the others?"
"Yes. I'll do what has to be done."
"Thank You."
"You'll be okay. I promise."
He began to pull away, to loosen his arm, but I clung tightly to him, burying my face in his chest. He sighed, but placed his arm back around me, tight as before. I don't even know how long we sat there like that- an hour maybe?
Not once did he try to leave, not once did he think I'd let him, not for a second. He simply sat, holding me, and I liked it. I liked it a lot. And, as a plus I seemed to feel better about the whole turning into an eraser situation.
When I pulled back, he knew I felt better.
"Thank you," I whispered lamely. He smiled at me, a rare smile I hardly ever got to see. A smile only Fang could make. It lit up the whole world, or at least mine.
"Feel better?" he asked.
I nodded, "Better."
He began to stand up, but paused, "Do you need me to stay any longer?"
"No, I don't need you, thanks," I said as reassuringly as I could. Truthfully, I hated that he was going to leave. Then I would be alone, just me and my thoughts, and my voice.
He stood and walked to the door, but stopped again. There was an odd air about him. He was different. He asked quietly, "Do you want me to stay any longer?" He looked over at me, his eyes so full of emotion, for once. I blushed. I stood up and walked quietly over to him. He looked down at me curiously, as I lifted up and pressed my lips to his.
At first, he stiffened, surprised probably, but then he relaxed. The kiss grew deeper, and better as it went on, and his arms curved around my waist, my fingers running through his hair. Suddenly, I realized, we weren't on the ground anymore. Fang was raising us up.
"Cause that won't make things complicated if I have to take care of it," he smiled again, referring to the pretty intense make-out session we'd just had. My heart melted into goo. I kissed him again, holding him tight, not wanting to let go. I realized then that I was still in a towel. Neither of us seemed to have noticed before, or at least, I hadn't.
"Fang- I'm uh- in a towel still," I pointed out, flushing red. Fang blushed too, which was a first. We landed back on the ground gently. He nodded and left the room, shutting the door behind him. I quickly threw something on, something I could sleep in that didn't look like it belonged to a previously homeless mutant freak. I found a clean pair of pajama pants and a tank top and hurriedly got dressed. "Done."
Fang came back in, and shut the door again. He raised an eyebrow, mocking my choice of clothing. I smiled and sat back down on the bed. He sat down next to me.
"So, where were we?" I asked. He leaned back in and captured my lips gently. Ooh, how I loved Fang, and how warm and sweet he was.
It was like everything was finally going right.
