The snow crunched underfoot. Blinking, Merlin raised his head to the dark sky. He giggled softly as a snowflake fell in his eye.

"Merlin? Merlin, where are you? Oh, there you are! What are you doing outside, you'll freeze to death! Speaking of freezing, the fire in my chambers has gone out!"

"Arthur, stay out for a while. Please."

"Why? It's snowing!"

"That's the point, Arthur. Isn't it beautiful?"

"I suppose so," he said, putting an arm around Merlin. "Cold though,"

Merlin laughed. "This is my first winter away from home. I'm glad I have friends to share it with."
