Disclaimer: I OWN FRED! FWEEEEEEEEEEE! -eats his soul- OK, the real owner, J.K. Rowling (and Warner Brothers) can have him back now. ;)

Hermione felt very paranoid. She stepped gingerly through the hall on her way to the common room, as if each footstep she tread could signal her demise.

As she knew they would (though not with the flare and trickery she'd expected), Fred and George appeared from around the corner.

They strode up to her, and walked beside her, Fred on her right and George on her left. They exchanged a seemingly disgusted look with one another. Could they possibly be annoyed with each other? Impossible.

"Hermione," Fred began.

"Go out with-" George rushed.

"me!" Fred finished, glaring at his twin.

"No, me!"

Hermione stopped walking, staring at the two as the argued.

"Me!"

"Me!"

"Guys?"

"Yeah?" they both responded in perfect unison.

"I'm going to the Yule Ball with Viktor."

The twins looked thoroughly dejected. "Please?" Fred asked, giving her his most charming (and absolutely adorable) puppy eyes.

"Yes, please?" George echoed, donning the same look.

Hermione sighed with exasperation, slapping George with her book bag. "I can't."

"Why not?" they asked, sounding much like two different radios playing at the same time.

"Because," Hermione explained with exaggerated patience. "I already told Viktor I'd go with him."

"But we'd be more fun on a date anyway." Fred whined.

"I'm not convinced."

"Hermione," George said quickly, before she could get off on a tangent. "forget the Yule Ball."

Fred's eyes widened. "What?" he asked, looking devastated. George reached around behind Hermione to give his twin a poke. "You could go out with me next Hogsmeade weekend."

"Me, you mean." Fred growled.

"Us."

Hermione looked thoroughly confused. "Which one of you wants to go out with me?"

"Both of us." The two chorused.

"I'm not going to go out with both of you."

"Why not?" Again, in perfect unison.

"Because it would look strange."

"And we don't already?" Fred asked.

"Maybe you do, but I have a reputation to uphold." Hermione said haughtily.

"Ouch." George commented. But they knew their target was finding it harder and harder to say no.

"Look at it this way," Fred said after a few minutes of standing silently in the hall with other students walking past and giving them strange looks. "You go out with us this Saturday, you don't like it, we forget all about each other. You like one of us more than the other, you keep dating said twin. Also known as me."

George gave Fred a very icy glare.

"What if I like you both?" Hermione hinted. She obviously thought that if she could make the twins understand she could never pick one over the other for a friend or boyfriend, maybe they'd leave her alone.

"Er. . ." Fred and George looked at each other for a second. "Then you continue your relationships with Viktor, Ron and Crookshanks."

Hermione looked annoyed for a few seconds. "I'm not in a 'relationship' with my cat." She chided, but she was smiling.

"So. . .Saturday at six o'clock?" George ventured.

"Oh all right, you prats."

The twins both smiled with equal sincerity and euphoria before trotting off to jinx a few Slytherins. Each was sure that they would win over Hermione's heart for their own.

This was going to be the best double date Hogwarts had ever seen.
