Chapter 4(Part 1)

Haley looked down at Lucas, who was kneeling in front of her chair, as she finished recounting her story.

Lucas took her hand and squeezed it reassuringly. "Are you sure, Hales?" Lucas questioned again.

Haley replied, "I'm positive. He was on the desk and Nikki, or whatever her name is, was on top him and they were both making out. She was kissing MY HUSBAND for god sakes!"

"That bastard! I can't believe he would do that to you. I thought he loved you so much just by the way he looked at you," replied Lucas soothingly.

Haley got up from her seat and took one of Lucas' bags while wiping the tears on her cheek. "Look, enough talk about Nathan. Let's just get outta here, OK?"

Lucas nodded in agreement and they left the airport together.

Chapter 4(Part 2)

Peter Smith had been working overtime at his private practice and he was in quite a hurry to get home. As he sped down the now-deserted highway, he noticed a car in very bad shape. "It must have been a hit-and-run," he thought to himself. Those types of accidents were common on this type of highway. His experience as a doctor and the Good Samaritan in him caused him to stop his car and go investigate.

He called the police to alert them, on his way there. The car was disfigured beyond recognition. He figured it must have been a BMW or some other classy car back when it was recognizable.

From the little he saw he also figured that there was no body inside. Well, at least he hoped so. However, further down the road, there was the unmistakable faint outline of a human body. It was a tall, slightly built man of about 25 years of age. He had a youthful face with dark hair. As he bent to feel the man's pulse, the stench of alcohol from the man's body came to his attention. "Probably, he was to drunk to even control his car," he thought disgustedly to himself. He got a very weak pulse, which led him to the conclusion that the man was unconscious.

Just then he heard the police and ambulance sirens. "Well, I'm going to be late for dinner again," he thought to himself and sighed.
