Lucy's first Christmas
Danny was working on finishing the tree while Lindsay sat on the couch with 1 year old Lucy in her lap.
"Wow Sweetheart the tree looks beautiful. Look Luce look at what a good job that daddy did on the tree."
"Dada"squeled Lucy
"Come here baby girl." Replied Danny.
Lindsay placed her daughter on the ground gently and watched as she made her way over to her father. Lindsay could not believe that her daughter was already one and walking. She was happy that she was going to have her first Christmas though. As Lucy reached her father Danny picked her up so that Lucy could have a better look at the Christmas tree.
"So, Luce what do ya think?"
"Pweety Dada pweety!" exclaimed Lucy. She then proceeded to reach out towards the tree to try and touch it.
"No baby, don't touch the tree I don't want you to get hurt or for anything to break ok?"
"Tay, daddy!" said Lucy with an enormous smile on her face as she continued to be mesmerized by the tree that stood in front of her.
It was now Christmas Eve, Danny and Lindsay had all the gifts for their daughter hiding in their bedroom. Lucy had just discovered Santa and was totally gaga for him. Lindsay made cookies for "Santa" and Lucy helped place them on the table for Santa.
"Alrighty baby, time for bed. The soon you fall asleep the sooner Santa will come." Said Danny. Lucy then reached up to her father and he lifted her up and placed her in her crib with Lindsay right behind. The Messer family decided to start a new tradition by reading The night before Christmas to their daughter. So they read it and Lucy drifted off to dream land.
As soon as they were sure that Lucy was asleep, Danny and Lindsay headed down the hall to their bedroom to retrieve the presents they had. As soon as all the presents were placed around the tree, Danny and Lindsay finished the plate of cookies for "Santa" and drank the milk. The couple then rushed off to bed for they knew that tomorrow was going to be a BIG! Day for Lucy.
CHRISTMAS DAY
Danny and Lindsay were awaken at 6:30 am to the happy squawking of their daughter that they heard over the monitor. Danny and Lindsay shared a glance and got up out of their bed and walked down the hall to grab their excited daughter.
"Hey baby girl" cooed Lindsay to Lucy
"Santa!" squealed Lucy
"Ya, let's go see what Santa brought for you shall we sweetheart?" asked Danny to his bouncing baby girl
With that, Lindsay lifted Lucy out of her crib and placed her onto the floor Before they knew it Lucy dashed for the living room and over to the Christmas tree. Danny and Lindsay followed quickly after their daughter.
"Ok, Luce, you sit on the couch by mommy and daddy will hand you your presents ok baby girl?" told Danny to his daughter.
"Yes! Now pwesents pwease Dada!!!!' squawked Lucy
"Ok Miss Messer let's get your presents!" replied Lindsay in a cheerful voice.
About an hour and half later the apartment was full of wrapping paper and all of Lucy's Christmas presents. The day went on and the Messers had just arrived home from Danny's parent's house. Lucy had fallen asleep and the couple placed their daughter in her crib. They both shared and look that said this was one of the best days they had ever had!
