MS: "The Fix" Monk's POV
(As I was watching this breathtaking, awesome episode last night on You Tube, I got to really paying attention to Monk. It was the uncut version which I think is the best version and it was interesting to see how he went from a reluctant to willing participant in such a short period of time. So I decided to "get inside his head" and here's what I came up with. This will end abruptly as Monk was shot and killed by Starsky in the alley. So be aware. Also, thanks again to "Crockett's Theme" by Jan Hammer for stirring up my head enough to want to play with "The Fix" once again.)
All things Starsky and Hutch do not belong to me. This is for recreation only.
What a plan! I always knew Ben Forrest was as determined as hell to have what belonged to him but for some strange reason I couldn't see him nabbing a cop to get it of all things! But he did. I had no clue initially (until he said it and threw the paraphernalia over at me) that he was going to go so far as to get that cop strung out on Horse. At first, after we nabbed him, I tried talking Ben out of basically hurting the man although I admit he was pretty well roughed up by my associates by then. I was beginning to get this feeling we were in over our heads by nabbing a cop. So I tried telling Ben that in so many words but to no avail. He made it clear that Jeanie was special to him and she belonged to him. So off we went into the other room where Hutchinson was, gave him once last chance to come clean with the information we wanted and he actually had the nerve to tell me, who held his fate literally in a warm syringe with his first dose of Horse to "Stuff it!" That did not sit well with me at all so I gave him the needle and shot him with the Horse. I have to admit it gave me a feeling a great power because personally wanted to throttle him for getting so belligerent with me. All the feelings I had for not wanting to hurt him flew out the window in that very instant. F*** him and the horse he rode in on! Even though he pissed me off big time, I did respect him to a degree because as one of my associates put it he was a "Tough Monkey." He was bound and determined to keep Jeanie's information to himself. I really had fun shining the light in his pinned eyes. His pathetic pinned eyes. Oh, the power one feels when they have total control over their lives! That is a high in itself believe me. And as time went on, I really got into what we were doing. And I have to admit seeing him die wouldn't have mattered to me one way or the other. In fact, I wasn't real happy when he somehow got loose from us. We were all pretty well shocked that he was able to do that. It took us some time to find him and it was up to my associate to once and all put him out of his misery. He came close, oh God, he came so close to killing him which is what we all wanted (except for Jeanie but she wasn't there at the time). But I'll be dammed if he didn't somehow again slip through our hands! He made it outdoors in the alley and climbed up a fence and of course Starsky had to save him. Curses, curses, curses! I wanted that blonde bastard and his dark haired partner dead!...
