Ravenclaw, Year 6, Drabble, Prompt: For the tenth time in as many minutes, he glanced up at the clock., wc: 419
For the tenth time in as many minutes, he glanced up at the clock. Harry's heart was pounding; Cedric always did this to him. Harry made a conscious attempt to ensure the blood didn't rise to his face. The idea of Hermione figuring out that something was different frightened him. It's not as though he thought she wouldn't accept him, in fact, it was quite the opposite. Hermione had probably read at least twelve books about human sexuality and was likely well versed in gay culture, but fear of rejection was not what was on Harry's mind.
It was nice to have a secret; the idea that only he and Cedric knew the synchronicity of their timetables, and the privacy offered by the fourth floor Prefect's bathroom. It was actually exciting to have a secret relationship. It made him feel separate from everything else; when he was with Cedric, he wasn't worried about school, or friends, or the Triwizard Tournament drama, despite having to compete against the object of his love.
The door to the Prefect's bathroom creaked open slowly; it was dark. The lights were generally kept off in the daytime.
"Cedric!" Harry whispered, but the excitement in his voice was evident as it cracked into a high rumble of syllables. There was no response. Maybe he was running late?
Hands seized the shoulders of The Boy Who Lived, spinning Harry to face the attacker. Cedric laughed at the look of shock on his boyfriend's face, leaning in quickly to silence Harry with a kiss before he could complain about the fright. Cedric's lips were about as soft and plump as they looked, but most impressively - they moved in time with Harry's own lips in a way that had a likeness to well engineered machinery. They fit together like a key in a lock. Their lips were made for each other and nobody would be able to dispute it.
If a bystander saw the ways in which Harry and Cedric sneaked about together, he might think it was solely a vulgar relationship, but this was far from the truth for Harry took great pleasure in just sitting on his boyfriends lap, laughing about awkward encounters with Snape, and discussing their plans for the first round of the Tournament. Harry frequently even fell asleep with his head in Cedric's lap. The cold, stone floor of the bathroom became comfortable to Harry, only by its association to the home that he was able to feel when he was with Cedric.
