A/N: Well, goodbye writer's block of (almost) eight years \o/ This little ficlet about Kyoko and Sayaka was the "curse breaker" so to speak. Includes (maybe one-sided) Kyoko/Sayaka.
Warnings: Very spoiler heavy for PMMM episodes 8 and 9.
And you know rest of the drill: I'm not native english speaker, just had fricking long writer's block. I don't own a thing and don't earn a dime from this text. I just wanted to have fun with poor characters
Let us have a happy dream
Back then, colour of Sayaka's soul gem was swirling.
Blue and black. And black.
And black.
"I'm really stupid"
And Kyoko felt panic, suffocating. This isn't supposed to happen - not to Sayaka!
Her vision filled with flash of blue and sound of soul gem cracking - breaking ring in her ears. It was the most desperate sound, most terrifying sound, there can be.
Stupid, stupid Sayaka!
She was brash. Too naive, always wanting to save everyone. Always going where her heart told. No matter how many times Kyoko told it would only bring misery. No matter how much she screamed to her. Sayaka was also stubborn and blind to things around herself. Especially to her own feelings. (Wait, was the last part more about Sayaka or her?)
But it was not Sayaka, it was not her body before them. It was Oktavia they were facing.
How much Kyoko wished she could still see Sayaka!
She would cares those blue locks of hers. Look into her eyes, drowning in them.
Lay her fingers softly on Sayaka's cheek - she would definetly blush. But not Kyoko, not with her.
And slowly taste those lips for the first time. (Okay, at that part Kyoko would blush).
Sayaka would be her knight, and Kyoko would be her devil.
They would fight. And they would laugh.
She would show Sayaka that she still had soul, she wasn't a zombie. She could love and be loved.
But instead of soft skin under her fingertips, Kyoko felt cold metal of her spear. She couldn't hear Sayaka's carefree laugh, but dark symphonium conducted by Oktavia.
Kyoko thought she had been protecting the one thing she wanted to protect the most. But she had been wrong. And lost the most important thing.
Without Sayaka, Kyoko was nothing.
And still, even though she was gone, Sayaka was still everything to her.
"I beg you God. My life sucked. Let me have a happy dream, just once"
Let us have a happy dream. Together.
