Barry sat at his lab, his eyes lingered out at the street bellow. Guilt was quickly spreading through him, and he nearly hit his own head out of frustration. He closed his eyes and felt for Kara's emotions, and knew she was nearly the same. How could they have fought over somethhing so stupid? They probably argued once every couple of months, and the usual argument consisted of movies- back and forth. Or just a random thought that probably would have made a normal couple cringe.

He rubbed his head and told himself that they would be alright, how could one argument separate a CSI and a Kryptonian? He once again closed his eyes and tried to calm himself when he felt Kara sending him positive feelings. He grinned and swear he could feel Kara grinning as well. The feelings that the two sent each other would have seemed like a conversation of two lover birds by an outsider. Out of the corner of this eye, Barry picked up on the slight sprinkling that was outside. The sky was pitch black, but there was a glowing light outside that was a bright orange.

"Damn..." Barry thought to himself, highly disappointed that he missed on on the most important events that had the possibility to change history. He sighed to himself, and started to pace around his lab- wondering whether he was gonna do work or just go home and hope he could convince Kara to stay a night.. or two. The light sprinkle quickly started to become hard rain and Barry that he was in for a storm. He sent Kara some more positive feelings before walking back up to the window to watch the Particle Accelerator. He could tell from miles away that it was fully functional, and he could also tell that the place was eminating a bright light. It was now storming outside, and the bright light was starting to reach across the city quickly. A red field of energy passed through Central City in a split second, but Barry noticed it.

His mind quickly went to Kara, and he started to worry. She may have been invulnerable, but from what he knew- she could still be hurt. He sprinted to the other side of his lab and turned on the Tv to hear that apparently something had gone wrong. His face formed a frown and he was going to watch more when he felt a sudden urge to look to his right. He saw that chemicals were starting to levitate. He had seen heat vision, freeze breath, flying, super strength, and super speed, yet this surprised him.

He heard feet walking to his lab and saw Kara standing in the doorway, grinning at him with her sparkling white teeth. He grinned back without a word.

"Hey Barry, look I know we just h-" Kara's words were caught in her throat when she heard thunder in the distance. And then saw Barry struck by lightning...

Barry felt his skin light up, as if it was on fire. His were above his head at the time, so he felt the bones in them crack. Oddly enough, he felt them immediately get better. His legs went numb, and his stomach churned as if there was a lightning buzz in it. All the while, his eyes remained on Kara, who was inches away from him with her arms out. and felt everything they had experienced flash in a second. Them meeting in her dorm, their first date, first kiss, and even the campfire trip. He remembered the first time he was threatened by Clark, their karaoke night, the first time he and Kara shared their secrets. His search for the impossible, was never as dear to him... as Kara was.

Barry was thrown across the lab and into a batch of chemicals, where lightning spread through his body. And then, it died off nearly as quickly as it came. Kara screamed, tears immediately flowing down her face as she slid over to Barry. She hadn't been fast enough to save him, she picked him up and immediately flew out. Ready to fly through buildings if it mean't getting him to a hospital.

Once there, her mind ran over the last few minutes hundreds of times while Barry was wheeled away in panic. A Nurse walked up to her and put a hand on her shoulder, which didn't affect Kara a bit.

"I'm sorry, he must be really important to you. Are you family? Or relationship?" She asked Kara, who wanted badly to ignore the question and lie down in her sorrows. But she answered quickly and quietly.

"Girlfriend. And before you ask, he was struck by lightning."

The Nurse looked at her in for a few minutes, not moving an inch. Her arm, which was rested on the taller woman's shoulder, slid off. She walked away quickly and went to talk to somebody else. Kara realized that she needed to let his only family left know about this so she made a call to Iris and Joe. An hour later both made it in, conversation with a doctor. But Kara paid no attention to them, all she saw was Barry's eyes before he was struck.

She could see a lifetime of pain in those eyes, somebody who had been through many years of sadness and guilt. But she could also see love, so much love. For Joe, for Iris, for Lois, for Clark, but mostly for her. It nearly shocked her to the point of a panic attack on how his feelings felt so dead. There was no life in him, no love, no hate, nothing that made Barry her Barry. Kara continued to cry until a doctor walked up to her and Joe, along with Iris and asked them if they wanted to see Barry. Kara nodded her heard before the other two could even say anything.

"Okay. Right this way, and I'm really sorry. We've tried to stabilize him, but nothing seems to work." Kara followed the doctor down the hall, with Joe and Iris following behind Kara. They were led to a room where Barry was being kept in, to find several tubes attached to him and shirtless. Kara immediately ran up to him and looked down at him with shock, tears coming to her eyes once again. Joe and Iris were also teary eyed, and looked down upon him with shock and anger.

The next few hours consisted of nurses coming in and asking questions to Kara and the others. It was full of pain and sadness at Barry being sent into a coma that nobody knew whether he would wake up from it or not. Iris and Joe were ready to leave, so Joe squeezed Barry's hand tightly and Iris kissed his cheek. The two left the room and Kara listened for their footsteps. Once she heard them leave the hospital, she slowly walked over to Barry and kissed his forehead gently.

"I promise you Barry, I will tell Clark about this. He will train me, and I will find whoever did this to you. Do you understand me? I will, I love you Barry... always will."

Okay so judging by that last scene you might think I'm gonna continue the story. Well, I'm not. I just hope you enjoyed the little remake of Karry Universe Chapter 21. :)

Edit, April 12th: Yeah, this is it. Sorry if it wasn't that good, like I said the quality of it should have been way better.
