A/N One-shot. Sirius Black's thoughts after being arrested for the murder of his dearest friend, the pain of knowing that anyone could think he would harm James and Lily cut him deeper than anything. Lossely based of song Bleed(I must be dreaming.)

The pain was worse than death, as he looked into the eyes of the people watching his trial...the fact that all of them could even think he'd harm two of his dearest friend's, cut like a knife.

Worst of all was Remus's face. The tortured expression of hurt-did Remus actually belive Sirius capable of killing James and Lily?

Sirius sighed, apparently so.

To think...for once he was not guilty of the crime he was acused of...it was the bastard of a friend who had killed them: Peter Pettigrew.

They would have all died for Peter, James, Lily, Remus, even himself, but apparently heartless Peter couldn't for them.

Yet he had trusted Peter, but not Remus; he had thought Remus was a spy near the end. Sirius would regret that mistrust for the rest of his life.

On top of it all...Sirius might not have murdered his friends, but it was his idea to make Pettigrew their secret-keeper. "Voldemort won't suspect him," he'd said.

Bloody idiot.

Sirius's attention focused on the judge, it was time to announce the verdict...

"Gulity."

Sirius seemed to freeze inside...he had to be dreaming, he couldn't be going to Azkaban for turining Lily and James over to Voldemort!

He was innocent! Couldn't anyone see that?

The trial adjourned, but before they could deport Sirius to prison, Remus came up to him, and whispered," We all live Sirius, and we all die. That does not begin to justify you."

Sirius fought the urge to scream and cry," Wait, Remus! It's not what it seems, it's not what you think!" I must be dreaming.

Please be dreaming, Black. It's only in your mind...not real life. You'll wake up, and everything will be normal!

But that didn't happen.

Help me, James. I've got to tell someone, tell them what Peter did. They began to escort Sirius Black to Azkaban, and for once he was afraid, but spoken fears can come true. So he was silent and still as the grave.

Remember, Black, he thought to himself, you are innocent. Does it matter? No one knows that you're innocent but you.

They know-James and Lily know the truth. He WAS innocent.

Remus's words came back to him, We all live Sirius, and we all die. That does not begin to justify you.

No, Sirius thought, but the truth does...and one day you will see the truth.

One day the truth was seen.

A/N Ok, how awful?
